In 2 of my old race/street cars - i used braille (then the knock off brand which i cant remember right now) batteries. I think they weighed 10lbs or so and the car started fine when the temp was above 30 degrees.

Spending that much on a battery is silly.

and they state it is 21lbs

550CCA

I will take 7lbs and $1300 all day long

Go for it and discover how it works out for you. Best of luck

PS- People's needs and perception of value differ. A high-quality LiON won't interest the majority of folks. In spite of my enthusiasm for the technology and benefits, I'm not here to sell them. So my parting comment is- to each is own

If the LithiumPros will truly serve my needs (mostly track usage, with street usage between tracks and to the dealer for service) -- and do that for 8-10 years -- then I think it's worth it. To me, for my use scenario. As always, your mileage may vary.

The only issue I want to address was just brought up by my Service Manager -- who races his Z06 -- warning me against it. He says these batteries don't like the slow current drain that all modern cars have. Zfat -- what's your response and how is that best managed? I can't recall if these can be left on a trickle charger; I seem to recall that isn't good with LiOn batteries?

I think there's a LOT of misinformation out there, since people don't seem to distinguish between different versions/chemistries of Lithium battery, or understand that some types have battery protection and cell management built into the unit.

Does anyone have an anti-gravity battery installed? I had one on my previous car and experienced no issues. I think I'll go for the 60AH variety.

AnitGravity Installed

I've installed the Antigravity AG-H7-60-RS into the Z28. Capacity 60Ah.

Outgoing Battery 37.2 lbs, this is obviously not the OEM battery. SuperStart Extreme48ECTJ - so really no idea how much the OEM battery weighs.

Antigravity Battery 18.0lbs.

One thing to note is that you may need the Camaro SS battery hold down as the Antigravity battery is about 2.5" longer. The Camaro SS battery hold down is shorter in length but any autopart store will sell a variety of battery hold down sizes.

SS oem battery is 12.4" 47-51 lbs.
Z28 oem battery is 10.9" 38-41 lbs.

Thanks ChevyPilot, I'll see how I get on with the battery long term, but the car lives in a garage in California - so it won't be the most stringent of exercises.

That's also why the SS battery hold down works.

I've also got Recaro Pole position seats, cushions being trimmed to match already with the Z28 logo in the headrests.

It's a shame that Akrapovic don't make a titanium exhaust for the car, but it's so low volume it's understandable.

Hey Gouki, I know it's only been 3 months, but how's the antigravity working out thus far? any issues?

No issues whatsoever, one interesting moment though whereby I accidentally left the interior light on in the car while inside the garage and ran the battery flat, it's not easy to get into the Z28 trunk to access the battery in this situation. However I was able to use the remote start function on the battery to spring the car back into life!

But remember, my car is a Californian garaged car, but definitely not a garage queen.

I used a small Deka battery for 1 season. I had to fab up a hold down bracket. It saved about 22lbs but had trouble starting the car when it was hot. I forget the exact specs, as I gave it away. But the next one I get will be more powerful.
