I switched over to the Hawk Performance Ceramic pads a while back, and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Minimal brake dust, no issues with squeaking, and I can't tell any difference in brake performance on the road. It was also the easiest brake pad change I've ever done...

Absolutely no problems with the hawks, broke in right, installed right and worth every penny. Able to go weeks without cleaning the rims, but my car is Summit White and the rear 1/4's stay much cleaner too.
One of the first mods along with front rock guards that I did from reading this forum. Thanks Camaro5

I recommend going with a centric brand pads over hawks. They give low dust . Great performance . And never squeak . And cheaper in price than hawks

Aside from that, does anyone that switched to ceramics actually track their car? General consensus is that stopping power isn't as good as OEM. I play on Watkins Glen occasionally and really like the way the OEMs whoa it down.

The thing with brake pads is there is always a trade off. You either get quiet and minimal dust that work well on the street, but fade on track or noisy and dusty pads that can hold up to abuse. OEM or the Hawk HPS pads are the best middle ground, but neither give you your cake and let you eat it too.. It's always best to choose pads suited for how you will be driving the car. Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions. Best regards, Tyler 888-308-6007 |
