No. Only removed the one idler pulley. Nothing else needs to be removed. There is plenty of room to do what you need to do.

I used a very big breaker bar for the crank bolt. I doubt an impact gun would have enough torque.

Didn't the crank bolt just spin? I've done a few pulleys on other cars and they just spin when you start to take them off (hence the need for an impact gun).

I just bought a threaded rod that is about 12 inches. Do you think that will fit or will it have to be cut to more like the 10 that you had?

That should work at 12" I would think.

No, the are torque to yield bolts and are one use only. Order a new bolt.

I think I just read that the lsa motor does use the keyway, and other ls motors do not.

Yes, I used another stock bolt. Probably would go with the ARP bolt if I had to do this again due to simpler torque procedure.
