Typically..

However, with all these newer cars cracking, I'm beginning to wonder if there's a flaw in the material.
I haven't put one chemical on my dash yet. All I do is dust and wipe down with a damp rag/towel. And that is even few, far, and in between.. Lol

Yeah, the 2012+ have the leather insert and different center vent design. Much better looking dash in my opinion.

I was told it was a flaw in the manufacturing process. They had some dashes that the plastic is thinner around the pass side airbag and it typically cracks around the lines where the airbag is supposed to push out when it goes off. That is why some are still perfectly fine and some crack out.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of the cure - Huper Optic Nano Fusion Ceramic tint keeps out the UVA/UVB rays & protects that interior. Even in 50 state legal clear on the windshield. Pricey, but well worth it. You should feel how much less hot the interior of my car gets at a car show in mid summer!

Anyway OP, hope your gets fixed soon.

Try talking at least to regional service manager see if you can make a deal with him as this is a KNOWN issue. i would not go on first and only word of your dealer. JMHO..

How do I find out who my regional service manager is or get ahold of him???

Haha! I was in Central GA for two years. You're humid, so you're better off!

Wow, I didn't know that. Thanks.

Good news and bad news: talked to customer service and they gave me a case number an asked me to take it to the dealer to get a diagnosis an estimate and an submit it to them for a assistance case, never heard of this but they lady kind of explained that GM might pay a portion of it. The bad news is while I was looking at the dash some more from the outside at a different angle I see there's 2 cracks the new one bigger than the other closer to the A-pillar perpendicular to the width of the windshield UGH!!!!!!! But have a appt tomorrow at 8 with my dealer.....

I think I'm going to look into this. How much did you pay, if I may ask? I just moved to Tucson, and it's hot as hell here in the summer.
