It took them a few days for dealer to get the 1-way valve but it came in and Dealer fix this for me yesterday. So far, the rice-krispies sound is gone. I too, compared the TSB photo to the actual work they did and all looks good!

TSB 09-01-37-001
Thanks, was wondering what the heck that noise was today as I was driving around.

They had to let the car sit awhile for the coolant temp to drop so it can be drained safely then the actual job took the dealer less than 1 hour to do. I wish they re-wrapped the hoses though. 2 shiny and ugly worm-clamps are on the heater hose and right away, you can tell they shouldn't be there.

if u are hearing a subtle rattling behind the glovebox, just take it to the dealer and have this TSB done. Like I said, it is a pretty simple task and you can even do it yourself, you just need to get the 1-way valve from the dealer and 2 worm-clamps and coolant. Best to have the dealer do it, it is free.

strange noise coming from behind the dashboard on the passenger side

Had this problem and it was annoying. My dealer chased the noise down. The cowling on the passenger side of the care was responsible. It was repositioned and to my relief, the noise has disappeared. I think the dealer fixed the problem.

Thanks for this. Actually, I saw that cowling early on and worked on it a little but it didn't seem to the source of the noise. After two replacement valves per the TSB and no relief, and after seeing your post, I went back to the cowling yesterday. It's soft, so I bent it away from the structure of the car to the extent possible. Didn't change a thing. But thanks for the post anyway. I'll mention it to the service manager. Maybe they can do more with it.

SM – I just had a thought. By “cowling” did you mean that silver heat barrier on the passenger side of the engine compartment, or the engine cover?

I also have a similar noise in my V6 (2LT/RS). When I accelerate lightly, I hear a vibrating/buzzing noise coming from inside the dash.

Does anybody think the TSB for the V8 will fix this?

What the heck. Take it to your dealer and ask them to fix it. Here's the link to the bulletin if you don't have it:

Good luck. Let us know what happens.

I had this sound and took it to the dealer. Got it back saying they couldn't replicate the problem. WOW I love service departments.
