Now do you have 15% metallic or cermaic tint? Metallic tint + antenna = magnetic interference = poor reception.

I have had no trouble with mine yet.
The key is "at the dealer"...this takes care of alot of the warranty concerns.

Is your tint metallic by chance? If so, that will affect your reception too.

Go to another dealer, but be willing to sign a waiver about your tint getting damaged if they are working around it. Why should the dealer have to be responsible for your modifications?

They HAVE NOT voided your warranty and won't void your warranty for window TINT, but they sure don't have to work on the rear window if they don't want to.

Good luck with your repair-I'm sure you can find someone willing to work on it for you.
tints tints tints....

does that just make you go crazy or what. if you were speaking with him face to face, would you respond like that?

It plainly says in the manual not to use Metallic Tints as that will interfere with the radio. My tint shop says their Metallic based tints WON'T.

However, to be certain.... I had them use the Ceramic tint, 35% all the way around & it's WONDERFUL... dark from the outside, great vision from inside & all the radios, mp3s, cell phones work just fine.

Also there is mention of the Nano's not working with this system in the manual I believe, plus there are threads about the Nano's not working elsewhere on the forum.

Why yes I would. I think it is utterly ridiculous that people have chosen to butcher the English language versus learning to type AND speak. I'm sure your "moms" would love to help him out by teaching him to speak. Why the h*ll do people think this makes them look "cool" I will never understand. To walk around slurring your speech or misusing words or saying "ax" versus "ask" makes the person look like a moron.

I think if more people were honest, they would agree with what I'm saying. There is a reason that some people don't amount to much...and one way to ensure that is to continue to speak and write poorly.

I have thrown out many a resume for typos and I've refused to hire people because of their grammar in an interview...so to answer your question again-I would most definitely correct this person face to face too.

I was under the impression that the Xm antenna was on the top of the car with the onstar. Sharkfin Has nothing to do with tint.

So let's try to make a little more sense of the data

XM and AM work fine
FM is not working as desired
iPod Nano is not working as desired

The radio antenna is in the back window
The car has received window tint by a 3rd party
If the 3rd party window tint is metallic, this could be the cause of the FM reception problems

It makes sense that the dealer is not going to do radio work under warranty until it can be established that the 3rd party window tint is NOT the cause of the problem

Does the Camaro5 community know for sure if the Nano does/does not work with the Camaro(I don't)?
It makes sense that the dealer would first ask, "are you doing it right" when trying to use the Nano.

Get more info on the window tint; consider removing the window tint; and follow the directions for the iPod. Once you've 'done your homework' then fight the good fight for warranty work.

Good luck!

WOW! Me thinks somebody needs to learn how to effectively coach, counsel and help people - that's a part of the forum, not to belittle and chastise its members. If you have an issue with the quality of today's job applicants, then you need to deal with it at work and not somehow make it an issue here! (Although as the Director of HR for a large international corporation if you were part of our interview team and talked to an applicant like that you'd be warned and if it continued, terminated).
Your superior attitude and comment about why "people don't amount to much" when someone asks for our help is over the top. It’s sad that you believe that everyone comes into this world with a perfect mind and all of life's opportunities just waiting for them to grab and run with, but they choose to be less than perfect. We must all be born with IQs of 180+, have two loving parents that teach us everything we need to know to succeed in life, and every lucky break is just around the corner. But then we blow it – it’s just that simple! Throw it all away just to be cool, etc. You nailed it! Thanks!
I guess there's no accounting for poor spellers with poor grammar to be superior at the things that matter in life. Things like caring for your sick and elderly parents or grandparents in a nursing home? Cleaning up after you at the restaurant? Or write the music you love to hear? Fix your car? Or a thousand other occupations that don't require what you think is so important, or jobs you probably don't even know exist because you're living so far up in the clouds? It must be difficult for you to live in a world of mere mortals who can never live up to your standards.
Go in peace, my child - for you, life must be terribly frustrating and people in general, terribly irritating.
And so my advice to you is Yo, chill bro!

its soooooo freakin funny how alot of people on this site are out to blast dealers for every little issue. Your warranty wasn't VOIDED, they just told you they would not work on it because of the tint. Ever THINK that may be tint sop cut a lead or sliced something when trimming the tint or maybe they had no clue that metalic tint would affect the sound system? Let me guess it was cheaper to do the tint there? than the dealer?
Guess you got what you paid for!

This is better than springer!!

JE-RRY, JE-RRY, JE-RRY!!!

seriously though, can't we all get along?? People personally attacking people for personally attacking other people. Jeeze. Relax.

OP... This is very likely to be a case of metallic tint being used. If the shop is going to replace or re do the tint... make sure you test the radio before the new tint goes on. If it's working, and then they put the tint on and it stops working, they are using metallic tint. It's pretty much as simple as that.

And make sure they didn't mess up the antenna. If they messed up antenna then figure on just replacing back glass. If dealership trys to fix you will probably have problems with it.
