What motor can handle that power?

Considering that is easy 1500+rwhp on a manual car, I would go right to an LSX block at that level.

IMO, yes. Some good forged pistons/rods on a stock ls3 block will take that all day long.
Unless you are going for well over 1000, the downsides of an Iron LSX block are not worth it.

What are LSX blocks rated for? Why don't more people do it?
I know people don't like the extra weight but seems like the best deal unless shooting for 1500+ |

~2000hp without mods, 2500+ with mods.
Extra weight is huge. Iron doesn't cool as well. Added cost. Block and machine work alone will typically be at least $1000 more.

I think I'm confused, a gm LSX376 can push 2000 out the box?

Ahahaha.
A GM LSX376 is a gmpp motor made using a LSX block. You asked what an LSX block can take, not what a GMPP LSX376. They do not use high end rods/pistons/crank, so those will limit the power way before the block. Now if you had a nice billet crank, rods, etc you could make 2000+ on a 376 LSX setup, but not as GMPP builds it. They use a lower alloy for the pistons that is weaker than most pistons, and stock ls3 rods which can bend easily with detonation.

Ahhhhhh ok make sense, that's what I was thinking. Any idea on the limits for the GMPP

Like I said, stock rods and marginal pistons. I wouldn't trust it for that much more than a stock ls3 IMO.

We have speced out engines all over the spectrum from 650hp to 1250hp+ using all different kinds of setups. You have a power goal we can get you there. Me personally for boost applications with the aluminum block I am a fan of keeping the stock or close to it displacement rather than a max stroke/bore setup where it puts that much more stress on everything. Let the boost do the work for you. Here is one of our LS3 416's in a GTO that had a article done it. He is aiming for 10.50's N/A then get used to the car and add some spray. He went 10.75 recently and was running 10.90's in shakedown runs. http://www.lsxmag.com/news/this-unas...h-a-built-416/ |

Well of course I would like 1000+ but realistically right now I'll probably be below 700whp especially with the blower I have. I wasn't planning on a new motor for a while but it blew up. I'm planning on just staying at 376 but just forge it. What do you recommend?

I bored my block ten over, went with callies rods, corillo Pistons and kept the stock crank. You can choose whatever pistons and rods you want, as long as their forged. My combo should be good for 1000 to 1100whp. If your going to stay under 1000whp the. IMO you should keep the LS3.
