GM needs to get past it. As if the announcement from .....um....who was it?!?!?! ....wasn't good enough. Shoot. Now ALL the GM people are talking about it and one guy is going to backstep?

Ford is already planning accordingly. The 2012 GT500 is going to be alot different than the 2010, rumored twin turbos. Hell, the 2011 GT500 is going to be alot better than the 2010 in itself. Aluminum block, more HP, less weight. Claiming 555hp for the 2011 gt500 and it's going to weigh about about 100 lbs. less than the current model, which will be less than the current Camaro SS. For the Z28 to be a GT500 killer they better figure out how to shave some pounds off the beast or add a hell of alot more power. Lol, you don't think somone at Ford is reading this forum and all the stuff we talk about that we want/might go on the Z28?? And vice-versa, I'm sure somebody from GM is reading up on the upcoming future gt500's from some Ford forums. Cat is already out of the bag on the Z28.

Sounds like our only hope will be the LS9.

Oh Darn I didn't really want 600 and some horsepower anyways.

I'm lying, I do want 600 and some horsepower

I am still thinking it will be a LSA with some tweaks, Altho it already makes 556HP so other then adding a couple forged bits I'd say GM is pretty well equiped to make the car plenty fast at a reasonable price, not that I care cause the Z/28 and GT500 will both be WWWWAAAAAAAYYYYYY out of my budget...

Thats what I find odd about all of this Z/28 being the "monster" that eveyone wants (except a few of us).... When has the Z/28 ever been for the exclusive high dollar market?

They haven't "officially" decided to bring it back. Apparently they decided on some level to do it, or Ed Welburn wouldn't have been able to let that slip (cause they wouldn't be working on it!)...

"Officially" is my new favorite word for the month.

What makes it exclusive? High-priced, yes...but not exclusive. 6-12 months worth of extra saving over an SS, and bang -- you're in.

(And the Z was the top-of-the-line for two and a half generations...)

Zzzzomg!

well ford better watch out because the 2018 camaro will be a hell of a lot better than the current, not to mention there will most definitly be some improvements to the 2030 camaro. I bet GM has something totally crazy in store for the 2067 model that will blow everything out of the water
