I've had mine 3 months. I get 19 around town and slightly over 30 on the highway at 65mph.

Have you taken your car into the dealer yet? I think you told me it was a bit slow when we were in Oshawa a couple weeks ago.

When I was driving back from oshawa, I was rockin' a 30 mpg, but I average around 20 the rest of the time( but I drive a lot in stop and go traffic). 89 octane, of course.

Switching to sports mode helped. It seems less likely to unnecessarily shift, just gotta...be lighter when accelerating!

All the things mentioned above (altitude, grade, acceleration, weather, wind direction and speed) would also be factors.
Technically, you should be able to average ABOVE the more strict EPA estimates. They are meant to represent more realistic driving style, but not a maximum performance mark. If you car is rated at 29MPG you should be able to hit that value if you are driving normally on a highway. If you drive at 65 w/o cruise control and coast/accelerate down hills to gain speed and drop below 65 when going up hill, you should be able to get over 29MPG, because this is more conservative than normal driving.

I don't know why a lot of people are saying they are getting worse mpg on average unless they are just "enjoying" the car too much. Maybe it's a new engine thing... But like the guy with the STS said, it's a heavier car, with the same engine. Because it is heavier it requires more energy to accelerate to the same speed and maintain the speed. So if the STS hits a certain MPG mark, you should be able to hit that mark with your Camaro. Then again, maybe the Camaro's aerodynamics are a lot worse than the STS, that could cause worse mileage at high speeds...

YEah I guess. There are a lot of whiteboys like that in my area who want to race. But I just look at their cars, know that I could beat them, and just cruise at the speed limit while they fly by me... hoping I see a cop spot them.

I drive like 95% city driving. Lots of stop signs and stop lights. I get 14 mpg in sport mode and 15 in drive. I used air conditioner always so far. I don't see how some people are getting 20+ in the city!?

True that... I think there would be a lot of import-kids trying to see hoe fast the Camaro really is.

25 on highway is my best. city is 16 at best - I'm disappointed in the mileage make me wonder what I'd get in a V8

15.2 mpg for a 2LT v6 RS. Almost all city driving and very very very conservative. This car is brand new but in pure stop and go traffic there is no way I can get any better.
