OK...
So I order myself a V6 LT1 Summit White Camaro, about two weeks ago. The reason I order the V6 vs. V8 is because I drive 100 miles a day and I get plenty of traffic tickets on my Camry, so I don't need the V8. I am just curious to see what the "real" MPG on the V6 is. I know I am not going to get the 18/29 they are promising. Please help! Thanks in advance... |

How do you know you won't hit 29 MPG? Plenty of people have gotten 29 or close.

Your car is only 2 weeks old and is not broke in yet. Some whose cars are broke in have reported over 30 mpg highway and rest have reported at or around 29 +/- 1.

I don't have my car yet... I ordered it about two weeks ago which means that is 6 to 8 weeks away, HOPEFULLY. Thanks for the numbers, if V6 owners are getting close to 30, then they should be very pleased.

Though I don't have mine yet, I'd have to say that like every other car, it depends on how you drive. If you're the type that slams on the brakes 2 seconds from a red light instead of letting up on the gas and just coasting when you see the light is red from far away, well...you probably won't get the 18/29. :P

I've only been through about 5 tanks in mine, but I'm averaging 23.5 (calculated). My commute is 30 miles door to door with 26 of those on the freeway (in light to moderate commute traffic).
I drove it on a 270 mile business trip and was seeing almost 28 for the freeway portions (65/70 mph). My car has only 1500 miles on it now. Rob |

I picked up my 2LT/RS in Dallas and drove it home to Denver. I averaged 24mpg on that trip. Currently I'm sitting around 22mpg with mostly rural highway driving and some driving in town. Bit lower then I was hoping, I've also gotten the mpg from both the DIC and doing the math myself with the trip gauge. Both numbers were nearly identical.
