I can't see an RS/SS for 30K. I will kiss Scotts feet at Indy if it's possible!

Price, easily. By the start of production, I should have roughly 15K saved towards down payment, but I'll be in college soon and I need to keep my payments below $350 since I assume I'll be at work less than now at some point in the future, so I'll actually end up saving more. I'll probably not get my Camaro until the end of 2009 at which point I plan to have roughly 25K saved - so even if it is around 35K, what's the big deal financing 10 grand? Late 2009 isn't that big a deal to me. I'm patient, it builds more hype, it'll have been around a year since its release so they probably would have worked all the kinks out by then and the dealer markups will have calmed down.

If the price is too high, wait and buy a used one.
If you wanted more hp, then mod the car. If the car weighs 3,900 pounds....there is nothing you can do about it. They already installed an aluminum hood. They already pulled out the spare tire (gave us an inflater kit). The back seats I removed from my 4th gen didn't weigh ANYTHING. Just foam. I've said before, you can give a dump truck 100,000 hp, but it still won't be fun to drive. It kills the cars braking, handling, and acceleration. So, for me, the weight is a bitter pill to swallow. If the LSA blown Camaro does not arrive, that is a deal killer also for me since that is the one I would be buying.... I will say, however, the entire Camaro team has built one hell of a car. Way more than I had even hoped for. It is VERY evident that they listened to, and are in touch with the target market for this car. I think it will sell EXTREMELY well. |

Price, but more like in the matter that I can't afford it. I will get it, but I just need the money for it. Other then that I'll add if I don't like how it feels to drive. Which I seriously doubt will happen.

Like many others, there is no dealbreaker for me getting some variant of a Camaro.
The breaker for me is will my convertible be a V6 or V8 and that will be determined strictly off what I can afford (not so much price, but price+my life when this all comes to fruition). |

Jsenn, have they announced whether employee pricing/other discounts will apply to the Camaro its first year?
I've got family that works for a company that gets Ford's Xplan price and GM's equivalent (don't remember the name) so I'm curious whether that will apply off the bat or if we might have to wait a while for it to kick in.

There's only one thing to compare it to right now. Not the G8 GT, or GXP. This is a Camaro, not a G8. And it's been repeated by multiple people on the car, so this isn't a hot-air type of thing...
"The Camaro will be priced competitively with the Mustang." (And this is my personal belief; that the RS package on the SS will be the equivilant of going from GT Deluxe to GT Premium on the Mustang....) |

Dragon I hope/pray you're right for both mine and GM's sake.
BTW, what's the current sticker on a GT Premium? Anyone know what it was at the new gen Mustang's release?

I think the Fully loaded GT Premium is like $28,7xx. Remember seeing that number for something.

I guess price could be a deal killer. I'll wait and see. Not too worried.
I was disappointed in the fuel economy. Was hoping for much more but it is what it is. Also, don't care for the fuel filler door on the passenger side. So much for the "don't likes" (short list don't you think?). Overall, the car looks great and sounds as though it will perform great also. Kudos to Chevy for the development of such a good tribute to the Camaro heritage. However, the Camaro is not a lock for me. I must purchase a DD soon for the 300 miles or so I do every week. The Camaro has a slight advantage over the others, but the decision has not been made. I'd much prefer a new RS/SS to go with my (2) '67 RS/SS's! |

So realistically we could see a "premium" over the GT Premium for the SS/RS and still be at or under $30k? (speaking only in terms of MSRP)
I could more than live with that.

If the Camaro SS/RS comes out at 28k....
They might just put Ford out of buisness. |
