I have the same issue with the QTP cutouts. Deceleration popping. However I can adjust the opening from 0-100% so is I'm not in the mood for it I only open say 20-30% and this popping is not as much.

not to sound dumb but what is the difference in a X pipe and a H pipe. I had my mufflers deleted, went with double wall 3 1/2 inch tips to fill the holes a little more and I love the sound, great idle growl and when you get on it it sounds mean as hell. You do get the popping, which i really dont mind.

awesome but i went with loudmouth II cause they actually have a muffler. there small and the exhaust is still mad loud. I wanted to have mufflers there cause its the law. Plus when i go through inspection i wont get hassled. Also they do random inspections in NJ. if they see a muffler they wont bust my balls. plus a cop can pull u over and look underneath. if he sees no muffler he can fine you or impound your car on the spot. not worth the trouble to save a few bucks.

Got my muffler delete done today. $151, and worth every penny! I wanted resonators put in, and they were more than willing to ablige, but after hearing with and without, straight pipes was the perfect choice. Even they thought it was much better without added resonators.

Man, that Magnaflow x-pipe tones it down too much. I'm keeping the stock h-pipe when I get them cut off. Sounds way better to me.

The Setup
I went to a good exhaust shop to have my work done. I paid $200... you can pay more, and you can defiantly pay less. I went there because I know they do good work. The whole process took 1.5 hrs. They reused the stock tips and other than the fact that there's no nasty stock mufflers hanging below, it looks (to the casual observer) like a stock SS.

Initial impressions
The car sounds nasty! I've had nothing but compliments from everyone that's seen/heard the new setup. For the minimal investment you get a very aggressive sound! I would put the sound at start-up/rev/take off against any top dollar setup.

Drone?
During freeway or cruising, this is not an issue. I was actually surprised at this. There IS a drone however that occurs from about 1900-2300 RPMS or so that is quite loud, but is most noticeable under light load when that rpm range is held for a slightly longer period of time (ie: slowly accelerating slowly/moderately from a light).

Popping sound
You know that slight popping sound you get under deceleration with the stock exhaust? Without mufflers this is amplified and much more frequent. Some may love it, some may hate it.

Rev/take-off/idol
It will scare away children and pets. Haha. Literally. I went to a friends house who has 3 dogs that bark and run around every car that pulls in. I rev'd it up, and they went away with their tails tucked. I guess it depends on your definition of 'loud', but one things for sure... it gets noticed.

Anyway.. That's my take on it. I might eventually go with an aftermarket system, but for them money... the result is quite impressive, and I would consider it to be fairly loud. Like any mod... it's not for everyone, but the nice thing is, if you don't like it you can always spend the bigger money later.

Hey, someone local! dont want to thread jack, but I am curious, have you done anything else to your car? I am looking for a local place that has experience working on these cars... a tuning/performance shop. I dont want to be the one that they "learn" on so to speak. I talked with PSI over in Hillsboro and they didnt seem to have a clue as to what I was talking about, so that turned me off to them...
