I am one of those that would rather drive a Yugo than a Ford, so mustang was not even an option for me. It was a very hard decision between the Challenger and Camaro. Haven driven both and not sure you are correct on the SRT-8 smoking the SS. It came down to the fact that it was going to cost me atleast 10 grand to get a Challenger that had almost the performance in a straight line and nowhere close in the twisties.

Here is the kicker think of the mods you can to to the Camaro for the extra bucks.

As a note, I went into this wanting a Challenger and after all my test rides and observations I still want the Challenger over Mustang or Camaro. But I'm here to see if there is anyone who would try lay out a convincing reasons why I should re-think about a Camaro. This is a major purchase for me no matter what one I choose so I look forward to any advice.

Thanks.

If you wanted a challenger coming into the decision get what you want... We picked Camaros becuase we have an attachment to them and we knew what we wanted and i never even looked at a mustang or a challenger.

IMO, if someone needs to convince you of what car to buy then you dont have your own opinion and should prolly wait on buying anything!

I think the poster needs to get a used Honda Civic and then spend the money you saved on some real add-ons.

You cant go wrong with the Camaro or Challenger. I think the Challengers exterior is a little nicer than the Camaro, but the interior on the Challenger kept me away. I love both cars, someday Ill own a (used) Challenger. I could care less about :

Power to Weight Ratio = Camaro
Price To Power Ratio = Camaro
Weight = Camaro
HP = Camaro
1/4 Mile = Camaro
0-62 = Camaro

.......if thats what you obsess about there are far better cars than a Camaro SS to be driving.

Cars for men are like underware! Just because you can fit into them doesnt mean that they are right for you. I didnt pick your underware and I wont pick your car! Its your money...buy what makes you happy and tell the others that dont have your vision to pound sand! I looked at the challenger but couldnt get over the fact that they spent so much time doing the body to look so damn good but slapped an interior in it that looks like 4 other cars!

what he said.

fact of the matter is we can give you all the stats in the world on why the camaro is the better choice. and then some people can give you their opinions. but when it comes down to it not everyone cares how fast the car is in the 1320 or how well it handles. . .just as long as it looks good and makes them happy.

get what you want.

What I've learned from posting around here is that you should definitely get whatever YOU will like and what YOU want. I got the V6 Camaro in a sea of V8 owners and I couldn't be happier.
