But I need to admit something... As much as I don't like Mustangs, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE it's supercharger whine!

I love how people say it's a $15k difference between a GT500 and a Camaro SS. That's only if you take the cheapest SS and a loaded GT500. Plus GT500's go for MSRP or less now and Camaro's were going for MSRP or more for awhile.

My MSRP was 51,120.00 - loaded with Nav

I paid $47k plus tax. There is about a $10k spread between what you could actually purchase a comparably equipped SS for back in July and what I paid for my GT500.

Still. 10k for a stock tenth of a second? Bit much. And the SS can be made to beat that for that same 10k if you do it right.

Sir are you saying that the gt500 is really only a tenth of a second faster than the camaro ss?

The car is hard to launch...too much power, not enough traction. So a few magazine tests have the Shelby pulling 12.6 - 12.7 at best. And these magazines also tend to stress the "at best" part. Ideally, it's much faster...Corvette-fast. But not in real life unless you get real damn good; and some tests indicate that.

I would not make too much of a few random magazine comments. Sure, a 540HP car on the same rubber as a 400HP car is harder to launch, that is pretty much common sense. Easy fix with practice or a pair of sticky tires. If the argument is the GT500 is too much car for a novice to handle, tell 'em to get a Camaro SS to get started with.....and move up from there
