I can never hear the V6 exhaust for the roar under the hood. M6 FTW

I have a 2LT/RS as my daily driver (have a set of winter tires on it now) and I absolutely love it. Took a long road trip over Christmas and got 31 mpg on the highway (when I was stuck doing the speed limit, 28-29 mpg when I wasn't). And nearly every car I passed on the turnpike had people turning their heads and staring at my car with their mouths open. Plus every time I came back out to my car at rest areas I found people standing around gawking at my car! I rarely get a chance to take advantage of the power in the V6 on my daily commute (but oh the fun when I do), so a V8 would be kind of wasted on me (but if money was absolutely no issue I admit I would have gotten the 2SS/RS).

For everyone who has got the Boston Acoustics sound system, how do you like it? Hows the bass? Is it deep, and loud when you turn it up?

How are the speakers, for quality, any distortion?

Thanks

I had 2 10" subs in my previous car so I miss the extra bass, but otherwise I think the BA speakers sound better than any other stock speakers I've heard in a car (and better than the aftermarket speakers in my previous car). It gets very loud...I've never turned the volume up past 14, and 12 is enough to make the door panels vibrate nicely with the bass.

Okay sweet. I thought it was worth it for the 500 dollars or whatever, because I love music. I wouldn't be able to drive over an hour without it!

I just got a 2LT/RS V-6 and love everything about it so far. I got rid of a 475HP 05 Corvette which was pretty modded. I had all that power and had a hard time keeping it hooked up when I wanted to play with it and it is very difficult to find anywhere to run it out without going to the track so I decided to go with the V6 on this car and it has plenty of power if you don't race. It gets 4 times the looks and positive comments than my vette did. The only thing I am thinking of doing is changing the exhaust for a better sound.

This was actually getting annoying recently. I listen to podcasts on long trips and sometimes the door would be non-stop vibrating. I'm no music freak and got out of sound systems in highschool, but so far I like it. I'd actually be afraid to turn everything up all the way. The bass isn't anything overly impressive, you'll need subs for that. There is some distortion though it's not a bother or easily noticeable.

I don't really know what the exhaust sounds like from the outside BUT from the cabin I like the growl it has. And yeah the RS package is a must

I knew what I was buying and not, so no regrets. For $30k you get a loaded 2 LT RS vs. a cloth base SS. The 304 HP with an Airaid and LS3 muffler swap adds about 10-15 hp, so at 315 HP plenty of power. ( Remember, that Mustang GT a year ago or so was a v8 at 300 HP and did not get 29 MPG.

Unless you are going racing, you will be impressed with the acceleration and ride.

Good Luck!

i love my v6, im sure everyone would take the ss though if money wasnt an issue, but the v6 gets better mpg, cheaper insurance, and still gets looks from everyone, but either way you cant go wrong but i INSIST that whichever you choose, please get the RS package, i have a very nice 1lt rs that was 4k less than the bare bones 1ss and no complaints

I was dead set on getting the V8, but kept hearing how powerful the M6 felt.
I wanted to test drive one to see for myself and and after I did, I decided it was plenty of power. The exhaust could be a little louder, but it sounds good around 3000-4000 RPM. I like not having to put the 93 in the tank and I LOVE the RS package. My boston acoustics sound great and I like the convenience and connectivity package. I even like the sunroof which I wasn't expecting. The V6 is awesome... you won't be disappointed.
