I need a newer car I guess or maybe not but they must use some really fragile paint on them if you get swirl marks just from a nice soft terry cloth towl.

All I own is black and never gotten that, though its all mid or pre 80 paints.

With all the chip threads, peeling grafix I am more n more convinced GM couln't paint it wayout of a paper bag anymore.

[note to self, save enough to get that custome built 2012 Firebird repainted right.]

It's pretty well known that these paints aren't as durable and previous paint formulas, mainly due to tree huggers and uncle sam regulation.

As for towels, new 100% egyptian cotton made in usa...thrift store and wal-mart is a no go.. (Maybe wal-mart, if you can find the right ones)

Not only that but the sun in Texas is tough. Try getting that car washed rinsed and dried before the sun does it for you. I bet the hot sun wins and you have hard water spot something aweful. Yhea, I know, don't wash it in the sun. Sometimes depending on the way your home is situated you don't have a choice unless you do it a 5 0'clock in the morning.

Anyone tried this guy? I'd like feedback before I order it. I'm fine with my Mr. Clean spot free rinse, but I'd like to upgrade. New car new system =P

That one looks ok except the replacement filter is almost as expensive as the unit itself, the one I posted is more expensive up front but the replacement resin is cheaper (like 65.00 I think) and it will last longer before replacement.

Anyone else use the California Water Blade? works well for me... then go back with "the absorber", and use a towel on the wheels.

when its sunny/warm, i just have to wait until dusk to clean. sun dries my black car way too fast -- before i'm even done washing!

I had a Mr Clean setup I used on my black Mazda 6. It broke after several years of use but the thing does work and is way cheaper than most other options.
I wouldnt use its other features though, just the water filtration.

I havent got a new one yet but I probably will at some point. So far I have just been using an "Absorber" to dry the car and it works good.

The filter can be hooked up to any faucet or outdoor water faucet.

I have a sink in my garage, I have quick connects on the hose, the faucet, and the in and out ports of the filter.

I wash the car with regular water, then disconnect the hose from the faucet, connect it to the out port of the filter, connect the inlet port of the filter to the faucet. I run the water through the hose until I think the water coming out is "filtered or de-ionized"

Then I rinse the car and let it air dry.
