You should be able to get the car for less than MSRP. 3 dealers I went to in CO were willing to go under msrp, some more than others. If you're willing to consider not getting certain options, you should be able to negotiate under msrp for something on a lot. My 2LT will be about $1000 less, and that final price includes the dealer prep. I had distinct features/ colors for the car, and it wasn't available anywhere. I ordered at the end of January, and my tpw (target production week) is 3/8/10. With a couple more weeks on top of that, it should be here at the end of March (the far end of the 6-8 week timeframe the dealer gave me). If you order, be sure your dealer has an allotment available for your car. Otherwise, you could be sitting in limboland for a long time. And, the 2010 orders have a deadline of April 7 (I think that's the date - there's a thread here with that info).

Another dealer you may consider from this forum is Becky Doyle at Rodgers Chevrolet. She's the salesperson who helps out on the tracking forum and will update your order status if your car is being built. She's also a Camaro owner (Summit White 2ss w/black painted stripes - nice car!).

It's scary doing this on your own for the first time - the last thing you want to have happen is feel like you've been ripped off. It will be a learning experience, but in the end, you'll have a car you love - good luck!
