The stock fuel pump is also "maxed out" with the factory boost setting and would need an upgrade to run reliably at higher then stock boost settings.

I limited my VR4 to 14.5 till I upgraded the fuel system.....that led to bigger turbos, downpipe, etc etc etc..!!

Back when I had a VR4 ALOT of people were testing the limits and that led to learning what not to do. I played it safe. IMO he can hit 12's with a great launch, but 16psi will only be seen for a second and drop off quickly.

Agreed! I had a '96 VR-4 with a boost controller, BOV, Intake, some exhaust work, and a good driver , and that was a mid-high 12 second car. But I would NOT go over 14.5 psi on stock injectors. I would keep it at 14 to play it safe and plan for spikes. Velocity is dead on about boost and the fuel system.

I too was around in those experimenting days and learned a lot from what was being tried.

The average FASTEST run on this site is actually 13.04
that is the average personal BEST.

That means the average run might very well be up to a half second slower

Well, around does not mean exactly; it usually gives a margin of error, whereas I think 1-3 tenths would be reasonable here.

Of course, this all depends on weather conditions, etc.

LOL !!! That was also my first and only Grand Turismo car. I haven't played any GT game's since GT1 on my PS1 with that 3000gt/ GTO green and white if my 90's memory serves me right.

Here's a Motorweek from the bye gone era when turbo charged factory imports were kicking domestic butt.

With a GOOD driver they will run mid 13s. They trap higher than s v6 camaro too. They're getting old though, so they're pretty inconsistent between vehicles. Modded it's a toss up. I've seen them run low 12s with bolt ons. . .

Just run him from a dig a few times and hope he breaks his transfer case because eventually he will LOL

oh ok, your post made it sound like an average driver will go out and run a 13flat on any given day, when in reality that is the average personal BEST time.

The 3000GT came in 3 models.

Baseline, SL, and VR4

The Baseline was SLOW, as it weighs more than a Ford Explorer. Camao V6 easy Win. Hell, Mustang V6 from same year easy win.

The SL had more h/p but was not turbo'd. It goes 0-60 in about 8 seconds. For then, fast. For today, it doesn't even take a Maxima.

VR4 - Every Day Supercar. Idk if Camaro wins in a straight line or not, but the fact is, it doesn't compare to the awesomeness of this car. This thing can outhandle a cheap Ferrari or a Skyline.
