RAM clutches has a new hydraulic setup for the Camaro.... here is a link:
http://www.ramclutches.com/Products/...se_bearing.htm

There is also a brief description on their homepage. It looks like it comes with a new line from the master to the bearing itself, and that is where the issue was in the 4th gen... so perhaps this could be a good system.

I am thinking about installing it, and doing a seperated reservoir. That should completely overhaul the clutch system...

Even without a seperated reservoir I bet this would make a difference, especially on twin-disk applications.

Curious about that RAM hydrulic throw out bearing.. my clutch stuck to the floor once. Not sure if its a pressure plate problem, shitty clutch spring binding, or throw out bearing binding..

The one thing that concerns me is that the biggest problem in the 4th gen was a restrictor in the stock line. This kit would replace that line, as well as add extra travel to the bearing, so it shoudl help in any case.

I think I am going to use this system... I also carry them, so if anybody is interested you can PM me... I will post up my thoughts and reactions once the install is done... I will have my buddy do it since I will be out of town for a week.

Ok what's the process for installing the new reservoir. Just install the reservoir fill it and connect the hose? Is there bleeding involved or draining of the system?

As I understand it, the purpose of the separate reservoir is to keep the contamination from the clutch system out of the braking system. It won't solve the sticking clutch issue. But if frequent flushing/filling the clutch fluid helps, it should be a simpler job with the smaller, separate reservoir.

What problem does a separate clutch reservoir solve other than contamination?

I'm interested in the separate reservoir plus the new line. I have not seen confirmation of the 4th-gen type of restrictor, but when my clutch stuck, it just felt like that could be it.

What type of line is required ? Anything special about it ?

there is no restrictor in the stock clutch line like the older gens. the new reservoir just makes it cheaper and easier to flush the clutch fluid and keep it clean. and keeps clutch fluid from only heating up on its own and not from the brake lines absorbing heat also which it all uses the same fluid. I got my clutch sticking problem hopefully fixed. picking it up from the dealer tomorrow and they called this afternoon and said it shifts like butter and the clutch has better engagement. the clutch sticking problem gm is aware of and came out with a new pressure plate for the clutch system. i got that and a new clutch today. It supposed to fix it. Well see!!!

As the stock reservoir is shared with the brakes, it separates the two systems.

If contaminants are getting into the clutch or brake system, it won't contaminate the other system as well.

It's more of a safeguard against contamination messing up BOTH systems.

And does not fix the sticking clutch problem, right?

No but flushing the fluid does help bc it helped mine not stick as often by putting gm super dot 4 brake fluid in it. the more heat added to the clutch system the worst it gets. That is y they came out with a new designed pressure plate bc supposed it cant handle the heat! So a separate reservoir also keeps the fluid needed for the clutch only used for the clutch. Think about after doing a burnout, ur using ur brakes to stop the car while spinning tires... thats strain on ur brakes, and drivetrain! Well having clutch fluid also flowing thru the brake lines is just another way of heating up the clutch. so another reservoir will make it 1 easier to flush, 2 cheaper to flush, 3 keep brake fluid lines that absorb heat from all over the car not affect the fluid for the clutch.
