I like the costco yellow microfiber towels, absorb well, are very soft and cheap (36 for 13.95 I believe)

...and they scratch the hell out of your paint. Anything with a tag sewn into the seam that says "Made in China" is good for one thing: checking your oil. If you don't believe me, do a flash bulb test of your paint.

.......Great writeup Junkman! These are very identical to my MF Cobra Miracle Towels. I LOVE MY COBRAS!! They are pricey though.(6 for $40) They're still cheaper than Adam's Double Soft MF towels though.(4 for $43) I've never tried Adam's MF products but I'm sure they're lovely. (I know they're plush on both sides and possibly edgless but I can't tell in his picture becuase the towel is folded)

Trust me.....I learned the hard way about Costco and Sams Club MF's.

Let's just say I had to bust out the PC and some Adams products to correct the finish.

Also here is a great article for those wanting to organize your towels.

Wow, I have learned a lot in the last couple days by doing a few google searches and arriving here as well as viewing Junkman's videos.

I thought I had purchased "upgraded" microfiber towels but all mine have tags. :(

Well, live and learn and now it's time to buy the real stuff even though I am still sorting through what I need for waxing, sprays, windows, and drying. Thanks everyone.

I am just getting into proper care of my car, having purchased a 2010 Black Camaro SS a couple months ago. Before now I didn't worry about it, but I love that car. While I never worried about swirl marks before, I am on a new journey and am considering a PC to remove the swirls that came with the car and to make sure I don't induce more. The PC scares the hell out of me but I am looking for that fantastic finish.

Junkman, my paint does not have swirls or scratches according to my brinkmann. Tags are removed prior to use. I have tried other brands in the past incl. adams (overpiced), zymol etc, so I know what else is out there.

This is all you'll need to do the entire car.....

HONESTLY, I DON'T WORK FOR AUTOGEEK OR ANYTHING....I JUST LOVE THEIR MF PRODUCTS. I have just started to explore Adams "liquid" products and have been very satisfied so far. However, I think Autogeek is more competetive and has more selection when it comes to MF products. (sometimes they have really good sales too)

Brinkmann is one gauge, but does your paint pass the flash test? This is how I inspect a man's paint:

The flash test will show what is hiding in your paint, if anything. Post up what you got.

Cool, the only problems I have honestly seen with the Costco MFs are that over time like 2-5 washes they start to wrinkle up. But if they work for you then have at it.

Ohh and you have to love Autogeeks B1G1 sales on there MFs

Did you see my review on the Autogeek Indigo MF towels on the previous page? Autogeek has way more products to choose from, but the quality of their best MF towels doesn't match up to the Adam's or Zaino's towels in quality.

Here's the way I look at it. You can offer a bunch of different products that range in quality and price (to appease the masses), or you can offer the best two that you find. Smaller companies don't have the overhead to appease all wallets and thus are sometimes out of the price range of some folks. I have already went the route of some of the cheaper product lines and have realized that you get what you pay for. I wasted a lot of money finding that out but now I know better. That's why I share this information with the world. So that you don't have to figure out what I already know.

I only use them once, toss them away.

I bought two huge microfiber towels at wal-mart that are very plush. When I dry I blot since most of the water has been removed using the Absorber.

I use the large Absorber I bought at O'Reillys which dries the car very well. This way I only have to use one large microfiber towel on the car and one smaller one for the rims.
