oh yea and that's motortrends they make up numbers according to some on this site, so they are now invalid lol
I don't think anyone has said they make up numbers. It's the conclusions and statements they make that open eyes. The current issue has the GT one tenth of a second quicker in the quarter mile, and yet they make the statement that "as far as naturally aspirated pony cars it's in a league of it's own." One tenth of a second is "it's own league"??? They sure didn't say that last year when the SS won by more than that.

And that "drag race" sure didn't line up with the test numbers.

yep, looks like the Mustang and Camaro are definitely, the SS and GT, a driver's race. I'd like to see them cool them off, switch drivers and run again, until every driver has been in every car. See what the results are.

The v6 comparo? Wow, lol. We v6 guys need more gearing then the v8 guys, that's for sure. If we had the SS's 3:54s, IIRC, that would be a closer race. Of course, they could always run the 2:73 Mustang too, lol.

In either case, they should have rotated drivers and showed those results. Would have been interesting to read how much the driver's from M/T affect each car's performance.

Magazine racing sucks! Of course it's going to be a drivers race between the Camaro SS and the Mustang GT because of power to weight ratio but MotorTrend has always had a biased opinion and their driving skill have been on the slow side with just about all GM vehicles that they have tested.. If you check their track record, just about every GM vehicle that they have tested has run FASTER with the actual owner driving, that is a driver mod having owner. LOL!

Either way, it's about time Ford stepped it up a bit but... I think a bit late considering the GT is an 11' model and the races are gonna be THIS close with a year old Camaro...

Which is going to be identical to the 2011 Camaro. Unless GM has announced some super secret changes since it's official announcement a few weeks back...

HUD is coming
SS will be had in Synergy Green
V6 got SAE certified, showing 312bhp

And that's about it, that I can remember at the moment. I'm sure a Fordboy will jump in and clarify all, lol.

Me too! I do wish the v6 was as close! We are seriously undergeared, lol. Still going to be a fun summer, as I'm hoping most will be 2:73 cars, lol.

In the article online MT reported a 12.7 1/4 mile for the GT and a 13.1 for the SS. In the actual magazine they changed the numbers to 12.8 for the GT and 12.9 for the SS for the same article. Unsure if the SRT's 1/4 mile time was changed.

I thought the Mustang ran a 12.7 at a different test? Where they ran each car one at a time?

I could be confused myself though.

I *think* it's the article online where they compared the three, which is where the GT ran the 12.7. As I understand it, the online article is the same as the magazine article, except they state the GT as running 12.8 and the SS running 12.9. So even though it's supposed to be the exact same they're using different numbers for both cars. However, I don't have the magazine so I may have misunderstood myself!

Can we put a 500 pound driver in the Mustang, a 200 pound driver in the Camaro and a remote control unit in the Challenger so we can have the weights somewhat equal.....:P

Totally different days and possibly locations. That means different weather conditions and possibly elevations. The mags just report what the cars ran, they don't factor in DA corrections. As hard as may be to believe, there is not a grand conspiracy here.
