I swore off black but that's the only color I like for my 11 Camaro...Everything I own is black, 06 Charger, 08 F-650 tow, 07 pace enclosed trailer. I just sold my black SRT8 Jeep. My cars/trucks before were all black!!! I'am addicted to that clean wet look when its done right!!!

I've tried TONS of detail sprays and the one I always keep going back to is the turtle wax ice spray detailer. It looks great and seems to attract th least amount of dust out of every spray I've tried. Meguiars ultimate quick detailer is a close second but ice beats it.

I picked up my 2010 Black LS - (Interior and Exterior)

So far I absolutely love the car, when it's clean the car looks absolutely kick ass. When it's dirty, well it looks like any dirty car would, that's life. I wash my car about once a week right now, it's probably not necessary but I try to keep my things in top notch shape when I can, and I have the time every Saturday/Sunday to do it :p. (I even pop the hood and trunk and make sure every little crevice in there is clean - also I clean, dust and vacuum the inside lol)

If you end up getting black, invest in a few cleaning materials - it's well worth it. Right now I'm living in Cincinnati, Ohio - and like the rest of the US it seems, we've been getting nailed pretty hard with pollen so I noticed a light dusting on my car pretty quickly. Also any time your car is sitting somewhere it will pick up particles. You won't notice them at all from a distance, but being the owner you're going to inspect every inch of that thing any chance you get :p . What I ended up buying was a pair of **Microfiber** dusters from Autozone, they're yellow and come with two, one's long ones short ( I use the long one on the outside and short one on the inside). Anytime I know I'm done driving for the day and I'm parked in the garage I take 60 seconds and do a light dusting over the entire surface, doesn't take much but it definitely does work! It'll keep your shine going until your next wash (unless you're kicking up mud and stuff, which is the reason I've been washing it so much as well, we keep getting random rain and I hit a few mud piles >.<) Make sure when you're using the duster, do **NOT* push in wish it, just lightly dust it, it's not a cleaner, it just picks up particles. If you try to scrub with it you might scratch your paint/clearcoat with the particles you pick up.

If there's one thing that I don't like about the black, it's like another member said, it takes away the accents. It looks kick ass but almost too plain, ya know? Depends on my mood, ahha. I think I might get stripes on it to give it some pizazz but I'm not sure yet.

Keep us posted on your purchase!

Edit: Also, I don't think black will fade as much in the years, not sure though! But that might be a bonus!

Black is mean and nasty. It perfectly portrays the personality of the Camaro.
Keeping my Camaro looking good is part of the obsession.

It helps if you enjoy the detailing.

I'll go out to the garage at night when I'm tired of the TV, etc., and just spend an hour "fussing" over the SS. I'll "throw on" another coat of Zaino and listen to the radio, and enjoy the "quality time" with my Camaro.

I lost count the number of times I've been asked if the paint is "factory".

I think the quick detailer stuff works pretty well. It gets rid of the normal dust and rain spots just fine. A few times I have used it after just hosing off the car to get rid of the larger particles. As long as you use good cloths (microfiber etc) and dont put too much pressure it wont swirl the paint.

If you enjoy taking time cleaning and talking dirty to your car...black is the color. If you don't have time to do so, then go for a white or orange. They are excellent at hiding dirt. Lol

So I held out, named my dog Nova... and matured a bit (very little I guess... but hey, a little is better than nothing )

So now here we have the current Mustang/Challenger/Camaro set. And as much as I love the old-school muscle cars, I know that I'd enjoy the current technology and handling more than if I were to rebuild something myself.

So, given that this is essentially my "dream car", I want black. No stripes. I've read a lot of threads on cleaning, so I mostly want to hear from the black car crowd.

Given what you now know about black, would you have purchased differently? I'm not talking about preference in colors, I'm mostly concerned with the maintenance and cleanliness of the car.
You know your forum name reminds me of that new $5 lotto scratch off ticket called Jokerswild...just thought id mention that...lol

Having a black car is high maintenance but well worth the effort.
