If your car only has 420ft-lbs why do you need to validate the transmission any higher. it passed the test no need to keep testing to higher levels. it mentions nothing about 430 ft-lbs as the limit.

The tailshafts are breaking because of a flaw in the hardening process on those certain parts, not a flaw in the design. The design is fine, the parts were just not hardened correctly. It happens quite often in the manufacturing world.
I would call this paper more of an overview and I would bet there is a lot more differences than you think ... this part caught my attention some:

"In 2009 model year, two new applications of the TR6060 were introduced. First, the Corvette ZR1 using the MH3 gear set. This gear set is the closest ratio gear set available in the TR6060. This gear set has been developed for maximizing on-track performance. Other than gear ratio changes, the only other refinements made in the TR6060 to handle the 638 lb-ft of engine torque were material changes in some shafts and gear pairs. The other 2009 model year introduction was the CTSv. The gear set chosen for this application was the MG9 which is similar to the MZ6 set used in the Z51 Corvette. However, in order to handle the 550 lb-ft of engine torque, the gears were redesigned. A trans pump is standard on the CTSv. The front bell was also incorporated into the front adaptor it improve powertrain bending. Both the ZR1 and CTSv use a twin plate clutch to handle the increased engine torque."

Now just because the M10 is tested up to 430tq doe that mean any more and it wll break? NO .. I had a T56 equiped 04 cobra pushing 520rwtq and it was fine. However, it would be nice to know the actual limits at least in standard driving conditions (no DRs or sticky tires etc) that the M10 has.

It will be nice when they figure out the current issue SOME people have had and this problem finally get resolved .... I am not loosing any sleep over it though ..

It is designed to cost GM lots of warranty repair money and the end user a lot of heart ache by breaking the transmission tails shaft whenever you use it.

Follow the procedures as stated in the user manual to enable you to test your On Star road side assistance, earn yourself a trip to the dealer ship for repair and as a bonus maybe even have a tow truck driver damage your front fascia when loading your broken car.

Well, I heard a new one this morning. Before I placed my order, I asked for a test drive again, with my wife in the car, so she could see about the complaints people have about the passenger seat being too low.

Well as we were out on the drive, I was asked to pull over and put it in first. So I did. The sales guy told me about the launch control.

He said to tap the button twice, which I did. Then I proceeded to be told that how it works is this:

You raise the RPM to about 3000 rpm, and then you can dump the clutch, then the car will transfer some of the power from the rear wheels to the front wheels for between 3-5 seconds! WTF!

Since when was the 2010 Camaro a 4WD? I was gobsmacked!

When we got back to the dealership, I asked how that worked again, and was told 'well, I am no mechanic so I don't really know, but it works!

My wife and I ended up leaving and ordering a 2011 2SS/RS from Eric Hall at Classic Chevrolet!

Say I want to clean the tires when in competitive mode. How do I do this because it sounds like the car would default to launch control. Do I need to go out of competitive driving mode into TC off completely and then put it into comp driving mode?

actually the output shafts breaking is because the metal used was very weak and not well made so when people used launch control it couldnt handle all the stress at once and just broke, but i think eventually the cars with the faulty output shafts would have broken even without using launch control

It is fun as hell. I do feel like it allows too much wheel spin though.

As far as something breaking: I want to know if there is a defect in my car as soon as possible. The car should be able to handle something that comes standard from the factory (and my car did just fine). Also, I want to get anything fixed before I put any mods on because after that I'm on my own.
