Kanys, i would just follow the book, or you could do a lot of research online and through mechanics and see which one YOU think is best. Everyone has their own way of doing it and no one way is necessarily 'correct.'

I figured those cotton towels would be a lot more expensive. How long do these last and how many do you recommend buying? I assume just one wouldn't be near enough to dry the car.

^thanks, I've done a good deal of research, and yeah like you said pretty much everyone has something different in their method, but I am trying to put all the stuff together and come up with something I am happy with. Oh well I will need something to occupy my time for the next few months! It seems the engines are broken in a good deal at the factory but hey it can't hurt lol.

We have found that certain towels; especially those manufactured abroad, although they say 100% cotton. They are not; they include a blend of polyester and nylon that will definitely scratch and leave swirl marks in your paint finish. The rule of thumb is to use high quality Brand Name large bath towels (Cannon or Fieldcrest) that say 100% cotton and made in the USA. Towels sold in bags in Auto Stores are not 100% cotton. Look carefully on the bag it will probably say made in Pakistan or Bangladesh or other foreign country. Do not use these towels. They will cause swirl marks and scratches on the paint surface. Always, remove the stitching around the towel prior to use. Bargain store polish applicators also contain polyester and nylon fibers and are not to be used. Also, when washing your towels, please do not use any type of fabric softeners. Always use White towels. Do not use Colored Towels they contain dyes

AHHH! A fellow 'Zaino' bro! Funny...but I have Sal Zaino's cell number on my phone. I had an issue one time and sent an email via their website...he called me directly! Nice guy and knows his stuff. I'm looking forward to spending a few hours rubbing the Z2 on...especially the rear fenders... That stuff is magic...

So...to the OP....DO use ZAINO and follow their instructions....

here's a pic of my M3 after a Zaino session....

That's was after an extended session...I had stripped everything off and polished/buffed it and then 3 coats of Z2. Total maybe 3-4 hours.

Then...one coat every couple of months. The thing with Zaino is that if you keep if in good shape...the once and while coat is super easy. Wipe it on in VERY small amounts and wipe it off. No pressure, no rubbing...just wiping. Easy stuff.

The full stip for me happens about once per year. I should be more...but I'm not that much of a nut.

Talking Anyone up for a 5th gen burnout at the dealership?

I have been told at the dealership to drive it however you drive your current car, the CPU will adjust to the way you drive and there is no need to "break" it in. If that the case I'll be doing a drift circle in his parking lot! That is the kind of stuff i do in my 4th gen, just look at my pics, he stared at me and shook his head when i told him, then said he'd clear a space for some 5th gen circles... HELL YEAH!

It lasts a very long time, the first time will take you the longest to do.After that, when it gets dirty just give it a wash and hit it with some gloss enhancer and it will look like you spent hours on it.This year ive put on 9 total coats, where 3 coats are put on in one session.First one was in spring ,then mid summer, and the last one 3 weeks ago right before the winter hits.I just started using it this year one my 03 Envoy so i was playing a bit of catch up.When i did the whole process for the first time, the next day at work people told me it looked like a brand new truck.

Today it rained like hell in Dallas,it stopped raining right before my drive home. When i got home it looked like i just washed the car,Clean and dry,no water spots.Except on the lower part of my car where all the dirt is.I hit it with the hoase right quick and the dirt was gone.

For drying use the Absorber, can get it at wallmart or pretty much any autoparts store.Keep it in the container when not in use and it should not dry up and get stiff.

That sounds great, I don't mind spending a good deal of time every now and then, I just didn't want something I would have to put on the car like every other week or something. Thanks!

Sounds great! So you would say it is definately worth the time?

Lol, nothing wrong with Dallas I just thought you might have a reason hehe. It is a straight shot on I45, but then again that could get a little boring. We'll see...
