It's funny but when I took my trip to Florida last october we took both my Camaro and my Camry. Mine is 2000 Camry LE with cloth seats. It is still great and I love how comfortable that car is. I don't mind long trips, but the camaro wins!

Drove Number 3, a 1LT to California and back Christmas 2008, 6,000 miles and super comfortable.

Drove Thor (Fbodfather's 2SS RS) to Florida Easter 2009 and again awesome.

Drove Mrs. Number 3's CTF 2SS to South Carolina August 2009, strangely same result.

Drove Transformers edition 2SS RS to Camaro5 Fest and back, and again pleasant and comfy.

I had a Camry several years ago and didn't care for the comfort much. My Camaro is much, much better. I've got over 15K miles on it and have driven several long trips including a recent 1350 mile trip in 20 hours stopping only for gas and refreshment. Never got tired or sleepy or achy. Just too much fun to drive.

I think an open air trip would be the best.

The Camaro is plenty comfortable. But the important part is that, unlike the Camry, the Camaro will come to a controlled stop after the long trip.

........someone HAD to say it.

It's pretty comfortable for long trips... I drove to NC from Mass once and a month later I drove to C5 Fest from Mass. I actually drove 20 hours straight on the way back from C5 Fest and it wasn't a problem.

45 mins a day each way between work & home, & several trips from PA to VA 4 hours each way aka 8600 miles in 7 months of ownership with 6 months of driving & 1 month of waiting for snow to melt

So comfy I hate driving anything else anymore!

Can be a little too comfy sometimes... more than once I've had to fight to stay awake while driving home from work at night.

I went to the camaro5fest and then onto Ft Lauderdale and back- 3400 miles and it was a breeze. I'm 67 and 238... Never got back pain, etc, once.
If I had my Impala it would have been a killer.

The seats in our SS are AMAZING! Both my husband and I have bad backs. I have a herniated disc (L5/L6) and these are the only seats I've ever sat in that don't leave me hobbling when I get out of them. I also like turning on the heat sometimes when I'm a little achy. It's pure heaven. Besides, there is nothing like hearing the roar of a V8 with headers and SLP exhaust going down the highway.

My only complaint was where to put my right leg when in cruise control. It was suggested to put the seat back farther but this didn't feel real safe. Other than that it was great. My fourth gen after taking long trips, took me an hour just to stand straight after getting out.
