I don't know anything about this shop but I saw it from 95 this weekend and it reminded me of this thread; so maybe someone wants to check it out? I'd be up for heading over there one weekend to peek around. They're name was "American High Performance" and had a website americanhighperformance.com.

Again, I've never used them, they're banner just caught my eye from the highway because it had a 5th gen Camaro on it. They're located in Lorton, which is actually great for distance. They're website makes it look like they've got a dyno. Maybe we can get them to do a group rate.

Under latest projects they show a dyno from Springfield Motor Sport so I doubt they have a dyno. It would be nice to know.

I recommend T & T Performance. Tim just recently installed a cam in my car and did a great job.

A couple of the G8 guys have also had good results from T & T Performance.

Where is this T & T? I've already scheduled my dyno time at Mach V motorsports is Sterling, but they appear to be more of an import shop, so that's fine for a dyno pull, but not much else

Personally, I wouldn't dyno just to dyno. It's just a tool to gauge progress. Narrow it down to the shop your going to use time and again. RPM in Delaware is an excellent LSx shop. T & T is in Frederick, MD. The best LSx tuners in the area are Steve Williams from Frost Tuning who works out of the Performance Auto Sport shop in Richmond and RPM in Delaware. There's another RPM in North Carolina that has an excellent LSx tuner.

I agree and it's why I haven't gotten a dyno before, but I have no intentions of buying a dyno tune. I've got a cmr tuner lined up for my email tune, so this dyno will serve as a baseline, then the changes from my vararam and tb (mostly for the guys on here who keep wanting more VR dyno info) and ultimately the final results of the vararam and ported tb with learning time and custom tune.

Btw, I'm in va so Delaware is a haul for me. Even Fredrick is 35 mins away

Really? What have you gotten done there? I have some things that I might need a lift/shop to install for me.

Can't believe I missed this thread's evolution. I quickly made up my mind based on threads from Ted, responses to threads by Ted, my own experience with Ted and his crew. I bit the bullet and made the trip to JRE in CT. I did have a friend in the area so I didn't have to spring for a hotel, but I would have. After that experience I have promised myself to do as much research as possible before any new upgrades, ask Ted's advice, perform said upgrades at JRE. Best consumer experience ever. Best car shop experience ever. I'm revising my earlier statement on EB3 having not experienced the way it should be at the time. Steer clear of EB3, find a shop with a work force you trust, honest pricing, and for christ's sake a clean workplace, and stick with them.

Even my DIY projects, I'm purchasing through JRE. Done and done. I have heard good things about T&T, MarylandSpeed, etc. Reputable shops are out there, you just need to establish your baseline before judging. If JRE is the baseline, EB3 needs to rethink their place in the universe.

My 2 cents...

FYI MarylandSpeed doesn't actually have a physical shop. They are internet sales.

What did you get done up there? Was this still the gear install? I don't think anyone suggested that shop in this thread yet so I'm curious what made you all of the sudden select and drive up to that shop?

I've been contemplating driving up to JRE for a cam install when I'm ready (ready = can afford it) ; but I want the TSP cam and am not sure if that would be weird since they sell their own grinds. I sent Ted a PM and asked him if he would be willing to chat about it and he promptly sent me his number, so definitely confirmed the reputation of his shop. The only negative thing I've heard about him was some weird restocking fee thing for a guy that backed out of an install. Seemed kinda weird and dickish so I assumed there was more to the story than I was aware of.

I plan to buy the SCT tuner and get email tunes from Jannetty. Listed at $378 on thier website. After reading this thread I called American High Performanceto get a quote for a tune. They quoted me $1,000.00 ($375 for the Diablo tuner) and $625 for the actual tune on the Dyno.

To date I have done all of my mods myself. When I get start to mod to the more complicated stuff (suspension, cam, super charger), I'll need a local reliable shop.
