So.........the 4 pack gauges are an automatic accessory on the 2SS, or does it still have to be added when ordering?
I saw the picture without them: http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...aro/CAS087.jpg and it's a lot more boring that way.

I too am ordering a 1SS/RS... I came to the conclusion that I should get this new 2010 camaro after trying to buy a 68 camaro with a 427 big block engine, and realizing that I couldn't drive the car safely around town (4.11 gears and 506 hp at the flywheel = really jerky and i felt like if i just tapped the gas I would do a wheelie).

Anyways, that 68 camaro SS i test drove had the 4 cluster gauges. I noticed they had the engine temp and fuel gauge down there. The idea of having a fuel gauge down there felt unique, so I was kind of bummed when I heard that the 1SS did not come with the cluster of 4 from the factory. But, I saw instead that it's just oil temp and transmission temp (?!), and not the fuel gauge. So, Now I feel no need to get the cluster of 4 gauges.

most cars display mph, rpm, temp, and fuel.

thats really all you need to know.

trans temp for an auto car is a very nice thing to know. as well as oil temp. seeing as how the oil does part of the job of cooling the motor as well.

I WILL have 4pack gauges, just as the '69 Camaro offered.

I guess I'm hoping that "It is only available from the factory in the 2LT and 2SS." means my 2SS will have it on there, but I'm calling the dealer tomorrow just to make sure. They never know anything and have to get back to me.

I just hope they're going to make the car at this point.

I am glad to hear the guage pack will be an accesory item as i was debating which ss to get myself for that reason. I still will ultimately go with the 2ss as this will be my first if not my only brand new car ever. it is nice to think about adding gm accesories after the fact but it is much easier(and cheaper) to get the things you want from the factory in the long run.

any idea on how much the gauges will cost separate?

i can barely afford a base 1ss and plan on adding things as i go on.

i dont need those gauges at all but the interior just looks naked without them.
