Three spoilers:

1) Lip spoiler-standard on rs and ss
2) Wing spoiler-option from the factory
3) Blade spoiler-only available through the dealer sometime after launch. It has the same bolt pattern as the lip spoiler, unlike the wing spoiler which would require a new deck lid if you already had the lip spoiler.

You currently drive a 96 Dodge Neon and your worried about your Camaro being a V6 or a V8?

When I was 21 I purchased a Mustang GT because I had to have the V8. If I did it all over, I would have opted for the 6, saved myself tons of money on insurance and cost. After a month of owning it, nobody gave a shit what was in it.

Great post! I am 20 and am in the same boat as the poster. I have the money to get the SS, but it feels like a waste of money to me. I would love to have the SS, but it seems like $7000 or so could go to much better things. I have no doubt in my choice of 2LT/RS anymore Also, I currently have a V6 Mustang and don't care at all that I don't have the V8.

Strangely enough, I kinda like my Neon. It's just getting old and making noises.

That's what I fear will happen if I take the V8, it won't be able to justify that extra cost I'll be paying.

Definitely. But I don't want to ever look back and think "what if?" either. It's a tough choice.

Yea I was looking into the Jetta Wolfsburg Edition and that has 200hp. But then when I saw the Camaro it was like F**K the Jetta I am going for the 300hp Camaro. And the 1LT/RS is fine for me! Can't wait!!!!!!!

Yea, you want to look good in your new kick ass car...I can't wait to pull up to a stop light and just like start talking to the guy right next to me in another camaro lol. That would be funny. But yea dude just save the money and stick with the V6. It will save you in the long run.

One other point. This will not be your last car that you will buy. Go with the V6, bank the money you will save and then two, three years down the line trade it in on a Z28 version. That will truely turn heads.

I lusted over a Z06 when I was out shopping for a new vette back in 2006. Then it dawned on me, where the hell can I use the power of the base vette aside from the track or for "bragging rights".

I do track my car and even though the Z06 are faster I no longer have Z06 envy. Maybe it's maturity, but either power plant in the Camaro will get you killed or arrested.

But LUST and need to impress strangers is hard to ignore. I guess I'll end by offering you the same advice I give fellow Corvette owners - buy the newest and baddest car you can AFFORD and NEVER SETTLE.

Good luck

I would get the SS. Back in 94 I bought a Z28 but got sick to my stomach latter in the day about the payments. The owner of the dealer ship was a friend of mine and took the car back and I got the V6 loaded and with the Z-28 wheels.

I drove that car for 6 years and kicked myself almost everyday for not getting the Z28. Well I am 45 now and will be 46 when the cars come out. My wife said get the SS, she said you kicked yourself before don't do it again. Life is to short and you might as well enjoy it. She know because her first husband was killed on his superbike when a guy pulled out in front of him. You just never know with stuff like that, so I would say get the SS.

Mine is 2SS with Chrome Wheels, Auto and Yellow. Ordered last week.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. I going to stay with the V6; I'm only 22 and the extra money spent on the SS initially and over time with insurance/gas would be better used elsewhere. It's going to be my daily driver and I don't want to be driving a super car like that around in the snow 4 months/year...and I'd rather wait for the Gen V engine and/or the Z28 for the future.

It was a tough choice, but money talks. I'm going to be plenty happy though with a fully loaded V6, especially when compared to an old 96 Neon.
