You see? 2.6...I'm all for power - but I can't see 1000 hp pumping out of that thing...brainwashed I guess.

Because it's all about effeciency. Think of an engine as a lung. The goal is to get as much air and fuel in in the right mixture, convert it into exhaust, and get as much of the exhaust out. The more you can move at the highest possible speed you can move it at, the more power you will make. Of course there are many variables to this, such as heat, load, and friction, but that's the general concept.

Hey just my 2 cents on the rb26dett..... First and formost Im all camaro big block all the way 74 with 467ci!!!! But a few years ago I was into bring skylines and slivias r32-r34 gt-gtr. when I first started to work on this engine it was odd and I hated it, but with time and learning new things all the time I have earned a respect for this. The only big thing about this engine was the computer to control. if you could make the comp work then big power was ez. I saw 700hp fairly ez( fairly is loose term ). for example if you took a 350ci and build it to 700hp and then took rb26dett and put in the same time and work effort it would get 700 too. just differently. And honetly could you see the look on the guys face in his honda( any import or ford ) when you told him that you had a rb26dett! Its priceless

I thought the Monte in the beginning and the plymouth at the end were easily the two nicest cars in the movie. The orange RX-7 with the Veilside body kit and the black 350Z were close thirds. I have a thing for rotary engines though.

I was going to ask about Hans car...what kind it was. But found it was an RX 7 w/ the veilside cosmetic package on it. There were more than a couple cars in that movie that I'd gladly sport everyday.... Did anyone else realize that Dominics car in the end of the movie was the Plymouth Roadrunner GTX "Hammer" from the show Rides??? I just figured that out. Pretty cool. |
