Come on Scotty - lets dream for a little while. Why not let Chevy repeat history and deliver (2) 600hp all aluminum ZL1 COPOs @ 22 degrees on New Years eve - to the surprise of Fred Gibb, although brand new they would not even start

For a Z28 I would rather see a twin turbo D.I. 3.6 liter DOHC with a sport pack suspension and a weight of 3600 # max.
You have to be kidding right! Its bad enough they've put SS on damn near everything! If they put a V6 in a Z-28 turbo or not ITS WRONG! Super Sport and Z-28 belong to the V-8s in Camaros. I say call it a ZL-1 if its sporting the 427!

If someone will buy a 100k Corvette, then I'm sure there's a market for a 60-70k Camaro even if its very limited.

I did hear the SLPs may be offered through select GM dealers and carry the same 5yr/100k warranty as regular Camaros...

We were told that we will get at least one, but nothing as to how or when. Has anybody else heard this yet?
An LS7/427 powered Camaro sounds great, but I do not see it as a reality. GM taking a big step like that would certainly pull attention from Ford's new Coyote powered Mustang, but things are not how they used to be. I grew up with the COPO cars, where if you could shoe horn an engine into a car, you could have whatever fit into the engine compartment without having to worry about emissions and vehicle certification. A special run of 50 or so LS7 Camaros would draw a lot of attention for GM but the cost of the certification would just be too costly and I do not see the new CEO Mr. Whitaker being that type of guy. I also do not see how a secret like that could have been kept from magazines like Motor Trend, Car & Driver and Motorweek. They might not be incredibly accurate in what they write, but a Top Secret LS7/427 Camaro project would have made the front cover, even if it was just an unsustained rumor. I truly do not think GM will make an 427 Camaro, but for the first time I really hope that I am wrong.

OK - we confess!

We ARE going to do a COPO.....

And the best part?

Elvis will drive each one off of the carrier as they arrive at dealerships.

COPO cannot happen in this day and age. The COPO system worked when there were no emissions or fuel economy standards.

I don't mean to belittle - but if someone from GM actually told you that, I'd like their name, please.
