i love nitrous. the only con i have ever encountered using it is, its real easy to get greedy.

whoops one more con i just remembered,,,,gotta change your oil more often

For those that are saying not to get nitrous because a supercharger is safer, what do you think happens when an engine detonates when it's under boost? It'll die just as fast as a nitrous engine will.

Nitrous is a great power adder. One thing for newbies to beware of - do not hit it at low rpm. When the nitrous is discharged you can get an instant torque spike that pushes so hard on the piston that ring lands, piston pins and rods can fail. Mind you this is not with a 100 shot, but it is something that nitrous can make happen. Standard nitrous kits "hit" whenever the solenoids are energized. The system does not know what rpm you are at or what load you are under.

IMO always run a progressive controller. Consider it a necessary piece of any nitrous kit.
