Midgard.....just yesterday I brought home my car after having the KB 2.8 liquid cooled installed. I haven't really been able to test it out yet seeing as how it's 10* outside. My OEM strut bar will no longer fit. It actually has enough clearance over the blower but not enough clearance over the cold air tube. Do you happen to know if the ZL1 strut would work or any other struts I can try?

Congrats Jaybird4u. I've got a KB 2.8 as well on my LS3. I put it on last summer. You're going to love it. It's a great blower. I'm currently adding headers and injectors to it as a winter project.

Did you get a dyno? Any numbers or charts you can share?

Thanks and yes I had a Dyno and custom tune. They set it up for a 8lb boost and the rwhp is 525 and torque is 528. I was actually thinking that number would be a little higher but my car is an automatic so that may be why it's a little lower then I thought it would be.

The shop is heated but the temps on the Dyno day were 7* and my shop said if the temps were in the mid 60's to 70's that number would be higher.

That's pretty decent number for an automatic. I have a LS3 manual and stock everything else. I put down 525 hp and 502 TQ. So I think that your numbers with headers are right in line and pretty good. Your TQ number is really stout for an auto.

I've never heard that moderate 60 degree temps would deliver more power than really cold temps like 7 degrees. But I suppose the air might get so cold and dense that it has to way over fuel???

Yes, he did say the dense air affects the results. Thanks for making me feel better about the overall results, Haha. How much hp do you anticipate gaining with the knew heads?

Hoping headers will add another 40 hp. I think with forced induction they can achieve that much...but that may be wishful thinking. NA they typically add 25ish.

So I guess somewhere in the 550-575 range. Maybe on the higher end of that range because I am adding some new injectors and moving to a custom tune. The 525 I laid down was on the stock KB tune.

So would that be the next step for me if I want more power in a year or so? Heads and cam?

Cam for sure. Cams can really bump up the power. I think they can get you 50-90 hp in supercharged applications assuming that you also drop the pulley size to get the boost back to 8 psi. Here's a thread I started a while ago asking the exact same question:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=408984

Heads will probably only get you another 30 or so. Maybe some more since you've got boost.

Keep in mind your fuel system. Not sure what you have now. But as you add more power, you might surpass your fuel system.

It only takes more money!!!

Exactly, more money. Can't look at it as an investment. Definitely a Hobie.

Do you know of a strut bar that will fit our setup.

Yes I think you are talking about the guard against a busting belt...used to have that problem before. The belt is so close to the hood.
