Very nice job bud, looks really good. What did you use for spacer between the dash and the trim?

I installed mine but when I close the trim I can barely see the tube and the light.... And if I want it to show nice and see the light I have to put big spacers and the tube comes out ( so the light looks okay, but especially you can see the tube sticking out and looks kind of lame)..

Any advice is very appreciated..thanks!

I did the weatherstripping method

The above picture was the first attempt . I had to remove and reapply the weather stripping farther up, (pic is upside down, so I moved the strip closer to the pen in the photo) till I got the correct gap.

You don't need to see the light pipe through the gap, you need to rotate the light pipe so it projects the light through the gap and reflects off the dash.
The drivers side is more difficult to seat the dash plaque flush because of its curve.
I elongated the hole I drilled in the dash by the instrument panel (with a round file) so that I could lift the pipe up or down based on where the weather stripping was moved( see the second pic in previous post.

Hope this helps.

Hope SJM does not mind this, but I am selling my ABL kit. I got it from them, and decided not to install it. Looking for $120 shipped. I have a thread up in marketplace but figured someone might see it here first. I have two light pipes, 3 ice blue leds and the plug n play harness. PM's welcome and I will delete this post if I am wrong for putting it here.

Thanks man, that actually does help! I have much thicker tape inside, and i broke it down to small peaces not full length and thinner like you did that's probably why on mine is coming out....

I will try to do this as soon as I get my newly ordered tuned pipes, and hope that handles both of my concerns..

Thanks again!

The tuned pipes by SJM are the key to reflecting the light correctly.

I used the SJM pipes for the dash and Night Owl kits for both doors and dash.
I will also add my little variation on footwells being tied into the ABL circuit.
That would be very helpful. Hope you get it done soon.

1) Do you have a measurement of exactly where the weather stripping has to be placed from the top part of the panel? Also, in the pic it looks like you put weather stripping on the bottom as well?
UPDATE: I thought the weather stripping was the black section in the pic. Is it the white one on both ends of the clip?

2) I thought this was a "no-drill" method to install the dash ABL. What is the hole you drilled you mentioned having to elongate?

Yeah the white is the weather stripping before peeling off the backing.

The LEDs have to get through the dash and behind the plaques.
On mine I did not have the extra holes in the dash like some earlier models. So I had to drill into the dash, but its all covered by the plaques.

Tony: Do you know when the Dash ABL Light Pipe Kit will be back in stock?
A few weeks ago your webpage said it was expected to be back in stock around 4/3/14. A few days after that date, it was updated to be back in stock around 4/10/14 (a week later). Here we are one more week later and the expected date hasn't been updated.

Sorry. I do need to update that date when I get a new one. Not sure what is going on with this run. I am following-up with manufacturer every few days pushing them to give me a new date.
