Hey Everyone, I just ordered the PINK
G2 Brake Caliper Paint System - Pink for my Camaro Aqua Blue Metallic RS. I hope this is preety, I want my car very girly, but yet still in good taste. Here is a link http://www.stage3motorsports.com/pro...-Shipping.html to where I purchased as soon as its done I will have detailed mod pics.

What do you guys think? Am I taking too much of a risk painting the Calipers Pink?

If you like it, then it is great! If you don't, there is plenty more paint in the world.

Totally your call, but maybe this will help you decide?

Hopefully I got the right shade...

Detailer ruined my paint!!!

So I was scheduled to get some skunk stripes, y'all call them rally stripes, on my cars this past Friday so I needed to get my bebe detailed real quick. All of the real good guys needed at least 2-3 days advance notice or only worked weekends so I decided to take it to a Touch Less Car Wash, TCW, place that also advertised detailing. So I took her over Thursday morning and waited while it was being "detailed". At one point, as I went outside for a cigarette, I noticed about 5 employees gathered around my car, one of which was a manager, looking at the hood of my car. As I approach them all conversation stops and I ask what’s going on. The manager states they are discussing the best way to get the swirls out which is why I brought it over in the first place.

So after waiting over 4 hours when they finally come get me to tell me the car is finished I am really ready to get out of there. I look the car over and it looks like there are more swirls and a few new scratches on the hood. I point this out to the “detailer” and he says, “Yea, we think there must have been a bra on here before.” Besides the fact the scratch wasn’t there when I brought it over they don’t even make a bra for the Camaro. This is the same spot I saw all 5 of the people looking at my car. At this point I leave. I know I should not have left and spoken to a manager right then but I had to get out of there. I take her straight home because I have other things I have to take care of but I am thinking and stewing about it all day. When I do get home from errands and birthday dinner for my better half I finally have a chance to really look at her and she is a MESS!!! I vow I am going to get up early and bring her back and speak with a manager.

Except 3:00 am I am awakened to my GF complaining about chest pains so it’s off to the ER we go. NOT GOOD!!!! So they run tests and it turns out to be a gallbladder issue. They finally admit her around 8am. Once she is in her room I excuse myself and run the car over to the TCW and find a manager and let him know of my displeasure. He is 5 feet away and can see the scratches and the swirls as well as the bugs on the mirrors, the brake dust on the rims, etc. He agrees to refund my money and fills out an incident report. He advises me to get an estimate and bring it back to go with the report. Well with the better half in the hospital she takes precedent over that and I spend most of the day there. Later in the day I am able to get over to my body shop that just painted my bow ties and put on my old skool emblems. They absolutely LOVE my car and are HORRIFIED by what has been done. They write up an estimate north of $700 to wet sand and rebuff the entire car. Needless to say I am floored.

So my bebe is in the body shop and once fixed she will finally get her skunk stripes. I should hear from the TCW within 6-10 business days and if they don’t pay up not only will I bring it to the attention of a lawyer but I will reveal the name for y’all to BLAST accordingly.

The good news is yesterday my better half got out of the hospital and came home. She is doing much better and I was able to take her to the Geneva Concours (sp) Car show today. She loves the old 1920’s through 40’s Cadillac’s, Packard’s and other big bodied cars and there were some beautiful ones there today.

My body shop said they were going to work on it over the weekend so I will stop by tomorrow to see how they are coming along. I have seen some of the cars they have painted and they are awesome so I am confident they can fix it, hopefully without having to paint. I’ll keep y’all posted.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

are you ready for this....

So.... I go by the body shop today and they have done an AWESOME job and gotten rid of all of the damage done by the TCW I mentioned in an earlier post. So I give the stripe guy the go ahead to install my skunk stripes.

Now I bought these stripes from the dealer this weekend because I didn't want to take a chance with the vinyl guys stripes. I wanted Chevy stripes. So I get a call mid afternoon from him and he lets me know that the passenger side pin stripe is cut in two places. I ask him if this is some sort of joke and he is not joking. I have to laugh at this point because otherwise I am going to lose it. I call the dealership right away and explain the situation. I also take pictures and send them to their email address so they can see them.

ALL I WANT IS SOME SKUNK STRIPES ON MY CAR BUT IT SEEMS LIKE I JUST CAN'T SEEM TO GET THINGS TO WORK OUT!!!!!

The dealership calls me later in the afternoon and asks me to bring the car by so they can see the stripe in question. I bring the car over and to their credit they are going to overnight a new set of stripes and try to get them installed tomorrow.

THE DRAMA CONTINUES.....

WOOOOWWWWW........you sound like you have the same type of luck I do! haha When I got my black "skunk stripes" painted on by the dealership, they cracked my winshield and have repeatedly said they were going to have someone call me to fix it at their expense....it's been three weeks and I'm about to go talk to the owner of the dealership chain and tell him I want my S**t fixed TOMORROW!!!

So the dealership called today and they have the stripes in but can't get them installed till next Thursday. GRRRRRRRRRR.

The Service Manager, with whom I have been dealing with, also brought up a great point. They may have to replace all the stripes on the hood because if they replace just one side they may not match. I didn't even think of that. Now that I have I wonder if I should have them all replaced so that they match. Any one have any thoughts on this?

I did take her to the Plainfield Cruise night tonight and did get a lot of great compliments about the stripes tonight.

Finally after 6 months of repair issues, heartaches, and problems I get to finally do a final inspection on my ABM! I should be back driving it on Friday! Funny part of all of this is I am getting it back on almost the exact date I picked it up from the dealer. Did some changes to it, can’t wait to see the final product! Figured I would share my joy with the rest of us ABM’ers. I will post some pictures once I get her back. Renaming the car to the Phoenix - a fitting name.

HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH

Anyhow, it's been a long day for my baby girl. First USAA comes to visit to get an estimate for that guy that door dinged it.
THEN I had the glass guy show up from the auto shop to replace the winshield my dealership cracked when they painted on my stripes about a month ago. Took him about 45 minutes to replace it then he was on his way. Let's all cross our fingers and hope that the betty bashing rampage is over now
