Patti & I want to wish the Camaro family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It's been great meeting everyone this last year and tapping your knowledge and experiences. TJ - you will always be "Camaro Yoda", even if you sell Ol'Blue. We feel fortunate to know some wonderful people and consider them friends. Camaro5Fest and all the other events were awesome! Looking forward to many more (maybe even Camaro5festIII in Indiana!).
Thank you all again for being part of the family of car nuts! We might even stop talking about the in-laws (Mustang owners) during the holidays...

Looks like I will be at Watson bright and early tomorrow to see about getting new fobs and changing the frequency or whatever so the old ones won't work. DAMN IT, I feel so violatated. I am walking around the house right now with a snub nosed 38 strapped to my side. Don't think I will get much sleep tonight. PCSD forensics spent about 4 hours going over everything trying to get prints. Looks like they were wearing gloves. I sure hope they try to get back in while I am home. They will never know what happend to them. By the way, the Camaro is at my sister and brother in laws house for safe keeping until I get the fobs changed.
Glen,

Thats no bueno at all. Im really sorry to hear this but I understand exactly when you mean by walking around with a gun on your hip. Sometimes thats the only way to feel somewhat safe after something like this happens. However, everything they took can be replaced so keep your head up!

On a side note, can you let me know how much it costs to get a key replaced and whatnot. I lost one of mine a while ago and need to get a new one. :(

I would like to take just a moment to say THANK YOU to all of my extended Camaro family for all of your help and support. These last 6 months have been the worst of my life and I really don't think I could have made it thru them without ALL of you. MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone.

Hi Adam. Sorry, but I really don't know. What they did Friday was to take the fob that I have and changed the transmit & receive frequency so that while they could get into the car with the key, they could not start it. I had them order all new key locks for the car and with 2 new keys, it was $240.00 total. I don't have a parts breakdown so know what the keys alone cost. Sorry.

Sounds like there has been a bit of tough luck around here lately. Glen, my heart is out there for you with the break in. That really sucks! And then Bodih with the lugs. It will be a New Year soon and hopefully its a lot better. My wife and I are stuck at home today. Highways were still bad on the way to Albuquerque so we are hanging around home for another day. At least the dog sitter is happy! She is getting paid today and tonight for doing nothing! Don't really mind paying her since she was already committed and I always feel safe when she stays here. She shoots way better than I do.

Thanks! Do you have to get these keys cut still or no?

From what I've read, you can program the fob yourself, but the dealer would have to laser cut the key (about $20).
