We drove our 2011 Kona Blue Mustang GT Premium 5.0L 4V (5.0 Magazine and Super Fords Project Car) with HID's, Comfort Package, Security Package, 3.73 Gears, Brembo Brake Package, 19" Wheels with Street Tires and drove it 70 miles from the dealer straight to the track! We went 13.2 @ 110mph with a 2.10 60ft with no burnout or cool down. The track was very sloppy from all the street cars dragging water down the track.
The Next day the track was good - 12.88@111mph with a 2.06 60ft with stock 19" Tires!
then they went off the the Dyno to pull some numbers and add the Mods.

LOL. There are more similarities than differences LOL. And LOL, the working idea started in a Honda. LOL. If you think Ford would have had it if Honda didn't first, you're dreaming. LOL.

Right, I went back and read they added Only suspension changes - upper and lower control arms, panhard bar and torque box braces! they had a lot of wheel hop on that 13.2 run so now No more wheel hop!

Sure is a lot of ground to make up from 13.2 @ 111 to 11.82 118 with just

Sticky Tires with Bogarts all around
Upper and Lower Control Arms
Adj Pan hard bar
torque box braces
Off-Road X-Pipe
Catback Exhaust System
K&N Drop In Filter
and a Custom Tune!

All with 405 RWHP and 375 RWTQ Gain 3,824lbs with Driver and a Full Tank of Gas

God, whats this thing going to do if they put on real performance Parts like Headers, cams Ect.

Add another notch to the number of people here that have 0 clue what they are talking about. Honda didn't do it first and TIVCT is quite different.

The true test will be to see what kind of numbers the 5.0 is capable of with a street-able pump gas NA h/c set up. If it can get to about ~470rwhp it will be right with the H/C LS3 camaro (~490rwhp). If it stops around 450 we will still have a slight advantage.

But either way...like has been said many times before. The cars are truly a good match for one another.
I agree, but I don't see the 5.0 having many head options. The stock heads flow so well, it just won't be worth the money. Cams will be another odd deal because of the TIVCT. The money maker will be enabling the valvetrain to rev higher. If the heads flow as well as we're told, spinnin' that bitch to 8k could make for some monstrous gains.

so ford brings out the 5.0 again eh? this happened in 1984 when the Camaro was sporting a 305 TPI and lost to the 5.0... what did the bow tie boys do? threw in the corvette's 350 TPI and got our title back the next day... whats going to happen this time? Ford puts in theyre new Ti-VCT system in a 5.0 stang and Camaro will throw a z28 badge on the side of the car and make the 5.0 wish it was still a 4.6.

wrong. it will compete with another stang called the gt500. im sure the first year the Z28 will win because it will be targeted at the 2011 gt500. then ford will add a few pounds of boost to get back on top.

the 5.0 doesnt compete with the Z28, just like the SS cannot compete with the GT500 if its life depended on it.

i have already mentioned that the coyote has 37mm valves and 39mm are standard oversize replacements. what you dont know about 4 valve heads is low lift flow.

you guys are accustomed to high lift values to make power. 4V heads get their flow from .1-.4 lift.

ford uses standard 37mm valves in the coyote. FRPP 39mm stainless valves have back cut heads, undercut stems, and swirl polishing for 12 cfm per valve extra flow. just in valves there is ~25cfm per port over stock. that is a fact you can check out easily at the frpp site. we are talking 380 cfm for 11$ a valve. IF the stock CFM is really 355 like the engineers say. and thats without porting. typically there is ~7 cfm to be had in a 4v head from removing the valve guide bosses. ~2 cfm from a 250 grit sand roll.

so if it will help you SS guys rest easy, teel yoursleves there is NOTHING left in the heads, but the reality is, there is at least ~34cfm.

VS.

What a couple average joes have done on camaro5 with their own personal cars.

Just taking an unbiased look at the situation...I have never said the mustang doesnt rip...in fact I have given it props more times than I can count. But you have to be realistic when given this type of information. Not saying private owners cant do this. But the # of camaros and mustangs running this type of set-up is small. All we know is that it still looks close like it always has been....and I dont doubt will stay that way for the most part mod for mod.
are you saying SS guy's make their own parts?
every part you can buy for the ss, is tested by some performance company or shop. i agree on the time and money part, but that gets factored in the price, when the parts become available to the public.
