electronic, can you please write something up of the detailed process you did to add the rca plugs. I think a few of us are confused. Are the rca plugs going on the radio or the car?

I thought it was the car side. To plug into the radio.

Speakers if you have the Boston Acoustic system only. Is what I gathered from the RCA plug post.

I still think it is semi-reversible if you wanted to go back to stock.

you mod the harness that comes with the radio for the rca plugs. I made the writeup for it and posted pictures on this thread please read instructions properly and carefully. the vehicle harness is left alone and all you do is mod the harness that comes with the radio. its a very simple mod but only needed if you have the B/A system originally. PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY before you do it and it is easier to understand the mod if you have the radio in hand.

I think I'm understanding now... the harness that plugs into the radio uses the speaker level connections. BUT the radio also has pre-out RCA plugs, so Boston users have to snip off the speaker connector that goes into the new head unit and affix the rca connectors.... leaving the stock harness alone. Is that right? Thanks!

Yes, that’s correct.

This is great. Was searching to see if there was a decent Android headunit out anywhere yet, what a cool combo this is. Great posts, thanks for all the info.

2 questions:
1) What version of Android is this? Seems like an older one. Maybe go into the Settings->About phone screen and post that? Just a concern because a lot of apps can be blocked/incompatible if it is a like 2.x android version (like most Android headunits I see)

2) Any testing with SiriusXM? My phone data is capped at 2 gigs so I wouldn't be playing tethered all the time through the sirius app. Hoping it works with the stock XM antenna. Could always go the external player route, if you ask nicely xm will give it free and run it as an input but prefer integrated.
