Does anyone know how much the dealership charges to program the mylink into a camaro. I have a 2010 ss and the mylink is coming from a 2014 ss.

Any info would be much appreciated!

Dealerships, will not do it. You need to contact Gen5DIY. They have all of the information and the cables/wires that you will need.

There are a couple of wires that go to the OnStar module connector X2 that controls the Voice commands. I would check the connector behind the glove box to make sure the wires are inserted properly, and there are no broken wires. If saying the command Call Wife doesn't work make sure that the phone book of the phone has downloaded. Sometimes it takes awhile or has an issue with certain phones.

I received the Mylink installation package and everything is good so far, its up and running no problems. Thanks to Gen5Diy for this, and all the posts from people with tips on installation. For the X2 connector I did push the clip out holding the harness to the heater box and was able to bring the cable down into the foot well for easier installation of the pins, just throwing that out there incase it hasn't been mentioned.

My only question is the backup camera I received with the kit is the factory style camera, and for the life of me I can't see how it installs with out removing the bumper. Can anyone confirm this? I am not against removing the bumper just wondering if I am missing anything. (I have removed the plug but it appears to install from the inside of the bumper.)

Fozzie

I had to remove the bumper (I did not want to do any cutting).
actually I did not have to take the bumper all the way off, just enough to slide the camera into the slot. Hope this helps.

Had good weather and time this weekend to finally installs started up and everything worked good (radio/nav). However two issues, and question 2 may answer question 1.

1. USB is not working. I checked all plugs and everything is properly attached. New pdmi, USB cords connecting to center console, other blogs going from radio to center console, and USB cord in back of radio brain. Dunno whats wrong or off.

2. Have non-BA system and didnt initially wire the "new" white cord. Was sent seperately and forgot about it. Took radio apart to check USB cords and looked at the rewrite plug with 44 inputs, the instructions state the new white cord goes into the empty cavity #43. There is already a white wire there, the one that we were originally told to t-tap. Is this correct?

I installed my kit last night. I'm glad I took the plunge and decide to to this upgrade. Everything works as it should. I took my time with everything. The X2 connector was a PIA. But I found out instead of battling with the lock release from the outside, i used a small Allen driver and pushed the lock tab from from the inside. I inserted the driver though one of the empty slots at each side and pushed it out. I did have to trim the floor console cover since I have a 2010 but the included videos show exactly what you need to do. One thing I noticed, the nav unit i got(10/12) only had the screw(7mm) holes at the bottom. The old have top and bottom. It does not move so I now have two spare screws. To anyone who is hesitant about doing this, DO IT!.. its worth it!.

So I started installing everything yesterday and finished up today. Everything is working fine except the HVAC controls don't show up on the screen when I make changes. The controls work but they just don't show up on the display. This may be a BCM thing, I'm not sure. Also, I'm trying to switch over my XM subscription to this radio but it says its already been used. XM will be calling me back soon to try to resolve that issue. Other than those things everything else is great.
