Totally my mistake.... For some reason i didnt even consider the possiblity that someone beat me to it over there.

When i ask the guys on the mustang forums if they post here their response are something like "why? That would be about as interesting as eating a card board sandwich"....

So i guess I was not even thinking about anyone coming over here and posting it when it came out, even i waited a day or so...

PS on a side note...when my turck and versa are paid off i was considering buying an SS...

Would it be retarded to own both a mustang and an SS? I plan to trade my 4.6 in for a 5.0 next summer as well.

I could afford a shelby but i do a fair amount of driving and its actually economically better to pay 2 car payments and keep the miles down on them for residual values sake... (keeping the miles under 14k a year= can sale any time if money gets tight or can trade for whate ever comes out new....driving just one= often being STUCK in the car or being HAMMERED at the stealerships come trade time)

Just to show i am fair: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ml#post2055136

My 87 formula with the 5.7 liter never lost to a stock mustang.I ordered it without air, powerwindows or anything. That car was light and for that time fast as hell.

This is a performance shop backed by Ford with limitless money, track time, driving experience, knowledge on drag racing/car set-up, no care for the well being of the car (beat the piss out of it), great track and conditions/prep just for them ETC. you name it.

VS.

What a couple average joes have done on camaro5 with their own personal cars.

Just taking an unbiased look at the situation...I have never said the mustang doesnt rip...in fact I have given it props more times than I can count. But you have to be realistic when given this type of information. Not saying private owners cant do this. But the # of camaros and mustangs running this type of set-up is small. All we know is that it still looks close like it always has been....and I dont doubt will stay that way for the most part mod for mod.
You don't know Fred at Evolution Performance...
They are Not backed by ford with limitless cash, they needed to get 5.0 Mag on board to do these tests because they don't have the cash avalable.

Fred and crew have worked hard on developing the perfect mods for the GT500 to sell and did well with that, they are now trying to develop a performance package for the 2011 GT.

The first run was on the 28th and the DA was around 500. It was also with 93 octane, not 87.

The rest also have messed up times and DA's, but I am far too lazy to correct.

For the record, I did not post to flame the camaro or troll. I think the camaro is a sweet ride. And competition is what will make both cars survive, as well as aftermarket thrive.

A) If the new styled mustang the past 4+ yrs hadn't sold so well, GM may never have had the guts to produce the camaro to steal market share in the midst of recession
B) without the Camaro, Ford may never have fast tracked the 5.0 and 3.7L engines to compete with the Camaro's
C) Now we know GM will also come back with a z28. and ford will prob come back after that.

So i am actually very very thankful for all you Camaro owners. without you I would never have had the chance to buy the new 5.0.

Great logic.

Why not compare my 2010 camaro to a 2002 gt?

Or why not compare a 2010 mustang to a 2010 camaro... oh wait... That's been done. Forgot.
You can compare the 2011 camaro to the 2011 mustang because it's going to be exactly the same performance wise. Who cares. This has been beaten to death and in the end, the cars are SUPER close stock for stock and modified. Both companies built a great car.

I'm sorry ,but I don't see the problem with what he did. I don't go on any other forums except this one since I've had my camaro so I like it when people post this kind of stufff. It lets us know what we needed to strive for to beat those guys from the other camp. It's a lot better then every other day someone starting a thread about what color should I get or stuff like that. I don't go into those threads and complain that I'm tired of those kind of threads. I just don't go into those threads. I don't understand why people choose to click on a thread when they say they are tired of the topic. I don't know why it seems like everyone on here is so afraid of the new mustang so bad that they want to surpress talking about it. I'm proud of my camaro and the 5.0 mustang does scary me one bit. That's why I have no problem talking about. My dad spent many years in the Army and he always told me that you have to learn everything about your enemy to beat them.
