Well I have really only 2 stations in the town I am in that I will use. I know they both have fairly new tanks and are not getting alot of water in them. We have on station here that run cheap gas but everyone I know that has gotten gas from them run like shit for next 2 tanks full. The have really old tanks full of water and who knows what else.

I didn't read through this whole thread so I'm sorry if this has already been stated but the deal with the older ls computers was that if you filled the tank with gas it was assume you did so with high octane fuel and start off by using the high octane timing table. If a certain amount of knock was detected then it would drop to the low octane table. There are also knock learn factors built into the computer meaning if the computer constantly detects knock it will make its way into the low octane table quicker. Pulling the fuses is a guaranteed way to make sure you're in the high octane table but filling the tank full of 93 should be enough.

Most likely so. Pretty much since the ls2 gto's it seems like the knock sensors are getting more and more sensitive. The g8 knock sensors are absolutely brutal but I guess more sensitive knock sensors are just 1 way GM tries to avoid warranty work, especially on cars advertised to run on 87.

Exactly my point, a proper tune will put it right around that range. The rich factory tune makes it sit around 11.5, and hurts power

I will bet you the money it costs for your dyno, that if you go dyno now, then pull your fuses, wait 5 minutes, plug them back in, then dyno again, I'll bet you that you will gain power on the 2nd, probably around 8 hp.

8 hp doesnt seem like much, but it is definately noticable with the buttometer.

Mine's fine. No fuse pull needed. Try changing gas stations for a few tanks.

Not sure what's going on with some of your cars. Maybe you were running fine before you did the fuse pull? If you don't TIME your cars, you won't know for sure. Mine is still running great after my one and only fuse pull. I time mine regularly.

What do you mean time your car?
I'm not saying I dont like the way the car performs, it is fast, and I'm still in love.
I'm just saying that it could do better than the stock programmed computer will allow it to.
I'll bet you have more power too.
You probably did have the fuel problem, since yours was slow, until you fuse pulled.
Mine never was slow, but there is power waiting to get out, and the computer wont let it once it learns a "safer" way of running.

Ask anybody who knows air/fuel ratio, and a straight 11.5 from 2500 to 6000 RPM is not a good number for a NA car.

Sounds like you're not someone who I was refering to. Yo seem to have a handle on your car.

By time your car I mean 0-60 mph, and quarter mile. Mine was consistant before and is consistant now. There will be a distinct difference if you're running on the lower fuel table. It's the easiest way to tell. But you're right. These cars are managed WAY back. It does suck but I understand why.

Haven't even got my car yet, But I'm willing to try anything if I encounter this kind of problem as mentioned earlier in this post.
It just amazes me of all the different things you can find around here..
