anyway, yep you are right. V6 is a musclecar. Mike's SS is more "muscular" though.
Not sure what went right over and why you can't explain the logic. You made it about the owners and not the car. And yes, today Mike's SS is more muscular, but what about tomorrow? Some one always has more money and time on their hand. Who's to say they don't build a 1000 HP V6 Camaro? Mike's SS won't be more "muscular" than that unless he also puts a lot of money into it.

My point is that every Camaro owner is different. Just like implying V8 owners hate V6s, it is wrong to call V6 owners posers because the like the power of their cars. 312 HP is more than 160 and less than 426. If the one that has 160 likes the power of their car they aren't a poser. If the one with 426 points out they have more it doesn't mean they are a hater. The hate comes when you start calling people names!

.......................why would someone invest so much money into a 1000hp v6?

Wow! 9 more days and this thread will have a birthday. By the way, can I get a V6 with a 3-speed on the column? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Why not? Why speend money getting a 600hp v8? Why spend money getting a 650hp Ford Fiesta. Maybe that's how they want to spend their money? No need to call them haters or posers. It's their car and their money.

Amazing.......on and on it goes. I would add something but I don't feel the need to justify my purchase and honestly don't care what other people think.

I would suggest that v6 owners not get involved with these threads as it only plays into the very few v8 owners who love to stir the pot who add nothing to this fine site.

Boring.

The LS3 is just a better platform, and easier to get a 1,000 hp... in the same body. It would just seem common sense for someone who was planning on getting 1000 hp to naturally start off with a superior engine...

Yeah sure, people spend their money how they want to... but at-least be smart about it. We're talking stock vs stock...

Ken Block's ford fiesta is a different story. It cost $150,000 I've heard...the thing is ridiculous!

I hate threads like this, they just run in circles....I have no intention of hating on v6 owners or their cars, just thought that comment was funny

I like to think of the V6 as muscular; but in a toned, in-shape sort of way. Like Chuck Norris, for example:

As for the V8, well, it's just a more muscular Chuck:

From my perspective (for what it's worth) being a guy that has owned 5 previous V8 Camaros (my 2011 being my 7th Camaro and my very 1st V6 purchase), I've always been (like many of us here on the Camaro5 Forums it seems) sworn to the belief that any "V6 Camaro is a waste of a production number" kind of guy. UNTIL NOW. I'm a Fleet Manager at a Chevy dealership here in Las Vegas and have sold dozens of the new (V6 & V8) Camaros and have had the Priveledge driven every configuration available time and time again (on a daily basis). I had sold my 2002 SS SLP M6 about 2 years ago vowing to buy a 2010/2011 2SS/RS come 'hell or highwater' when they arrived at my dealership and turning my nose up at even the mere suggestion of a V6 purchase. "A V6? Bwahahahaha!". What's that old saying? "Never say Never?" Well, after driving and selling the V6's I stood there at the literal "Camaro Crossroads" surprised and shocked as I had fallen in love w/the overall feel of the new Camaro (V6 & V8) and loved the price point of the V6 enough to investigate more and eventually end up w/the V6 configuration last month. Don't get me wrong, the new SS is an animal....but so is the new V6 in it's own right. The V6 IS 'hands down' a musclecar. Is the SS more of a musclecar? Of course, in regards to horsepower...no denying. But to say that the V6 at a stock 312HP should be disregarded as a "true Camaro" makes me smile now. I'm just as proud of my V6 as I would have been if I had decided on the V8. I agree with what was posted earlier that it's up to the Camaro owner which configuration they choose. What's important is...that they own a "Camaro" folks! Don't forget....we are all in this together!

Jeez! I really tried to read all the posts but only made it to page 14 before I had ti stop. I just bought my 2011 IBM LS and I love the car! I will admit, though, I wish I could've afforded the V8! But with all the costs of the V6 being cheaper (tires, gas, insurance etc..) it just made sense for me ti go with it. I am on a budget. And I honestly am happy that GM makes the V6 at such a great price! So yes, I am envious of the V8's but the fact remains...I LOVE my v6 manual!!!

some just dont get it.

argument that when something new comes up, whatever good now won't be as good tomorrow...well that is fine and dandy because that means the bottom car becomes buried even deeper.
