In the first-generation, the two namplates were equal-but-different depending who you talk to...one was a handler, one was a drag racer. For the rest of the Camaro's history, Z28 was always on top. And it's a car-specific model...like "Z06"...SS is brand-specific. Quote:

if you guys are buying these for value.... good luck. Everyone knows a modded car sales for less than a stock car. Saying a Z28 will have better value than a SS yeh I would think so but we are talking cars here.... Values in cars suck as we know it and will only get worse look at Z06's for instance; they are so cheap compared to new model even with low miles. The same ole saying goes once its off the lot its worth less like that so why pay more for a z28 when you can have a conversion with more power and the same look. Now if your a "I have a Z28 and the SS is inferior no matter how fast or better it looks" then I understand there is no swaying you. If you want a warranty on a S/C from factory then I understand but warrantlys suck anyway... I mean we have dealers that wont even change axles or output shafts on stock hp cars without a S/C because they say "you were racing" so do you think that warranty work on a S/C factory car will be easy lol good luck with that. Either way this will be a great release but they will be all over the place much like the 4th gens are now.... why because camaros ROCK!

The ol' saying "A picture is worth a thousand words".........
Well the CAMARO5 family has surpassed that saying by MILLIONS of words. This has been one of the most entertaining threads to read ever ![]() |

yum yum yum yum yuummm haha
Im loving this, the front fascia intrigues the hell out of me, i like it a lot, i was really really hoping GM wouldnt super charge the Z but eh, we cant always get what we want, plus at least its a V8 and at least its supercharged and not turbocharged, so i can always give myself ultimatums to keep myself happy xD This babe is beautiful, im wondering what, if anything they're gonna do to the interior, this interior doesnt look changed much. And whats the arguement about buying for value? Come on people, we all know how the car market works, you buy a car, it goes down in value, stays for 10 years, and starts rising again...at least...the American muscle car market that is xD This Camaro is going to own the road when it hits the market, if people thought the SS was mean look out, this is gonna change the game again >=} |

I just noticed a possible subtle difference in body panels. in a few of the photos, the camaro logo on the drivers side appears to start right behind the end of the flare from the wheel well. On my ss, the sheetmetal nxt to the logo is smooth, no prononced flare at all. could this be an entirely different panel from the current camaro; one that fits with the new front end? These logos are put in the exact same spot from the factory, so I doubt mine is just lower and away from the location of the one n the pics.
Also, the exhaust cutout is oval, and not round. Prolly just to accomodate the twin pipes. Nice to see the giant trashcan mufflers are gone.

Well I didn't take the time to read 22 pages lol so if this is something already posted forgive the repeat. I pulled one of the posted images into photoshop and did some image processing on it and the badge on the side of the car that's taped over looks like it says Z/SC in the front with the Z being small and the SC being bigger. After that it looks like a 3 or 4 letter word ending in O but it almost looks like 440. I put red lines on one of the images to show the Z/SC.
This is an odd test mule. No backup sensors but based on wheels and brakes looks definitely like a road race car like the original Z/28's were. The checkered tape on the bottom indicates to me they have ground effects planned which are not on this car. There has to be a spoiler planned. Interesting mule.

The wheels aren't factory, the brakes don't match, the interior has panels taped to the carpet, and there are a set of "not the real headlights" in the front fascia intakes.... Overall, this is nothing more than an engineering mule, Z28 or no. They'll probably keep the true design components in the basement, or the wind tunnel....which means we'll never TRULY know what the Z28 will look like until they show us. ...yay..... ![]() |
