As far as the Euro, I don't know about France, but here in Germany a €30k American car that isn't normally sold here would easily be taxed all the way up to €40-50k. Making it cost in the neighborhood of $60,000.

Especially if you consider the taxes based on engine displacement, sales tax, importation tax, etc. Like I said, I don't know about France, but I would imagine it isn't too different than Germany.
Well Punk_Rider and Rock36, it might not matter for you....

Seems the someone in the European Parliment is trying to ruin all your fun....this guy is proposing a ban on all cars that top out over 101mph....

Here's the article: http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-new...h-ar37397.html

I wouldn't count on it....I mean come on, Ferrari, Lamorghini, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, Rolls, Bentley, even VW, Saab, and Volvo (I'm sure there are others, I'm just not thinking of them right now) might have something to say about that. Not to mention the automakers that sell their autos into Europe or the numerous tuners and aftermarket performance parts companies....that won't happen. But, what if it does?

the good part is that european parliament is talking abut that since it was created or almost ...

in times when nothing important matters, they think about making laws about shoe sizes, coke color or sneakers smell ...

regarding cars, at the end, germany always says 'nein'!! Bayerische Motoren Werke represent!

regarding imorting, my bro imported 2 years ago a 1990 ZR1 Vette and the cost was quite ridiculous (few thousands euros)

regarding the price ... whatever the price ... i want one ... when you need money, you find money

Yeah, I also thought of that. I don't want to get a brand new 09 and there be 4 or 5 different recalls on it or something So it might work out best for me if I just wait till 2010, that way I will already have a steady job (I don't think it will be hard finding employment for a Registered Nurse lol) but I also have to think about getting married, don't want to spend all the cash in one place! :p Oh well, thank goodness I have a few years to think about it!

im tempted to just get a V-6 just to have one. either way, as long as its priced below $25k I can afford it and have it paid off in 3 yrs or less

just kidding, a camaro is a camaro. Great all the way around. V8 just has more thunder is all. But the V6's are respectable (and that's an understatement)

I've made the decision to wait for 2010 for the vert. That way if I ever change my mind, I'm still good to get a coupe after recalls (if any). I'm planning on the SS/Z28 model because all I've owned are imports and 4 bangers, I want to feel true power under my foot, like the vipers when I raced them at Laguna Seca.

I just got back from vacation and am trying to catch up on all the information. I know we all have a price we would be willing to pay for the new Camaro, but when you are in the show room looking at the most beautiful car in production, you would tell me that you would walk out for a couple more grand than you originally plannned on spending. I think not. If you do more power to you.

Only if I'm certain that the couple grand is going in the dealer's pocket. I won't pay a cent more than MSRP for what I order. I plan on going to the dealer with more research and knowledge than even the dealers know themselves. The dealer is merely a formality that is required to get me my car. They just need to do up the paperwork and get me out the door.

We already know more than the dealers. Haha!
Just keep on the track that we're going, and we'll have no problem getting a car for MSRP - hell, we're the ones they want to buy cars...the V8 thunder people...sorry, Camarospike

The only thing is that the camaro is a hot commodity, so dealers won't be handing out many if any deals or rebates right away. In most cases, the chevy dealer will be making out very well. IMO
Bring back employee pricing!!! lol

From a reliable source at the Ontario Camaro Nationals this weekend!!! Pricing will not be released in the immediate future, nor will available models of the new Camaro. it is Bad business to release too much info too soon and too early! we will just have to wait and see!
