Dude you have to make it. I may have figured out a way to finagle my into being able to make it after all and you are one of the people I was looking forward to meeting........does that mean I care or did I just admit to being a stalker?
On a side note I hope the news isn't too bad and things smooth out for you

SPIKEY!!! YOU HAVE TO COME!!
Thats it. It has been demanded by the BB, so it must happen.
It wont be the same without you being a brat to me. I would be HEARTBROKEN.
Tell whatever it is, to just hold it in April and cruise on over to a weekend of awesomeness.

But on that last bit - I'm with Lori - hope it all works out

Since when has "the BB" had power over me....and not the other way around?

Lol.

I'm still keeping the faith too, but I'm also a realist.

Hopefully things will work out. I've got a lot on my plate right now and I don't see it lightening up any time soon

alright, now that I'm home from work and have a little free time, I'll try and catch you guys all up. I apologize for not breaking the news sooner, I had honestly planned on posting this last weekend but as you'll read below, things have been busy.

ok... where to begin...
I recently started a new job at the Caterpillar plant here in town as a diesel mechanic. 6:30 am to 5pm (usually), five days a week and the occasional saturday. I'm up at 5 to take care of my 2 dogs and shower before heading to work. then after getting out of work, I can usually scrape enough time to swing to my house to change clothes (hopefully shower if time permits) and get back in the truck and head to class. Monday-Thursday I have night classes starting at 5:30-6pm and last anywhere from 8:30 to 10pm depending on the class. then, if I'm lucky, when I get home, I can do some studying or work around the house. Throw into all this mess the fact that Im still serving in the AF reserves and have a 4-5 hour drive to the base on certain weekends... like last weekend for example. and its not hard to see that I've been more than busy. off work friday evening just to run home, change clothes, and head out to the base. then having to be at work at 6 in the morning for the military and while I was sitting at a computer most of the weekend, I had so much stuff on my plate while I was there that I barely managed to open a browser for C5 before the phone rang again.... and again... and again...

"but Spike, why not get on after work on the weekend?"

well, after I got off work saturday, I went to accomplish one of the other things I set out to do while in town. A friend of mine's grandmother had some patio furniture that she wanted to give to me so I went out to her house that evening and loaded it into the truck, then got stuck in a conversation train for about 3 hours then sunday, more work and not being able to check the site. then after work, another 4-5 hour drive back home.

only to have to take care of a bunch of stuff at the house that I didnt have time to finish on friday. then back to work and school on monday. and tomorrow, I have mandatory overtime. the pay check is nice, but the hours suck when you still have a lot to do around the house.

I'm currently remodeling 2 bathrooms and my office at the house in very slow stages and tomorrow was supposed to be the day that I spent all day knocking everything out, but no, I have to go into work. oh, and I have to go pick up a hot tub that I got for helping a friend re-roof his house over the last couple weeks as well.

thats basically been my "everyweek" for the last couple months. right now, in addition to posting this on here, I have 3 other tabs open to read information for my online classes to finish up homework for them tonight. my finals are all during the same first couple weeks of dec, and when I go back up for reserves next month, I take my skill upgrade and promotion test on the same weekend... aaaaaaaaaaaand, I'm testing for my A&P license during the same week before switching my schedule to start my new degree program with Embry Riddle.

and to top all that off... my wife, Emily, just took a new position at her father's private practice 2 weeks ago (so now he can retire).

now with all that, you may be wondering... what the heck does that have to do with keeping me from attending the fest.

well, to an extent, nothing. But kind of everything at the same time.

As if I didnt have enough stress going on in my life (I can barely keep track of what day it is).... I got some heavy news last week from my wife.

as it turns out, after a year and a half of marriage.....

we are going to be increasing the number of dependants I can claim on my taxes.

thats right....

Emily is pregnant with our first child!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now, as for the fest, all my money has already been used for touching up things around the house, paying bills etc. now, its all being diverted to a "kid fund". and working out being gone for nearly a whole week for "another car thing" while Emily is pregnant is going to be a huge battle to overcome, but only time will tell. we're still a ways out. but just in case you dont see me at C5FII, you'll know where and why I'm not there.
