Thanks for all of the information guys, I really appreciate it. The Pill is predicting 5000 to 8000 Zl1 per year. I guess depending on the final price there is a possibility of 7000 to 10,000 ZL1's built in the first year. I was just trying to get an idea of the number of cars that Chevy thinks it might build the first year, which I thought might be close to the GT500's build numbers plus a little more because of speculation buyers.

I always try to calculate in the "worst case scenario" so I think 7-10k can be easily done. If the ZL1 is built in Oshawa, those production numbers will be taken from the current coupe/vert production numbers. If GM reduces production from last year to 100k units (29k less than last year) that will be 7-10% of total production...

I don't know, I think you guys are being a little too optimistic with those numbers. You can't really compare the best year for the GT500, when the economy was good, and it really didn't have any competition.

Now, not only is the economy questionable at best, but you have both the future SVT product and the SRT392 to compete with. Unless the economy is in strong recovery mode by then, I don't think any of these cars will approach 10,000 units.

The GT500 Certificate is pretty cool but I do not think that GM would be able to do the same thing with the ZL1. I think I read that the GT500 engines were hand built and signed by the builder. Everything on the ZL1 will be off an assembly line, not quite the same thing. I am not sure that the ZL1 will get a specific unique VIN showing the sequence number of the build. But it is still going to be a hell of a ride, with or without a certificate.

i think it would do GM some good for them to modify the LSA to make more power since it doesnt make sense to just try to beat the cheapie base model GT500. They know Ford also offers much more powerful full warrantied versions already and the 550hp GT500 is just the starting point IMO.

This is where GM needs to catchup, not trying to squeeze a few measly HP out of a factory offer. I do not recall any aftermarket blowers for the LSA that are easy bolt-ons.
come on everyone knows bout aftermarket all that takes is a pocket boook enough said on that

Huh? If it takes $15k to achieve 750Rwhp in one car and $5k to achieve that mark in another, you would be a fool to not factor that into the your decision if 750Rwhp was your goal.....
