As far as I'm aware, more of the internal components are beefed up in the LS9 and the supercharger is bigger...

Well it makes what, 70 more HP? I'm going guess it's a bunch of different things... heads, cam, stronger/forged rods, pistons, intake.

LS9 - forged internals (crank, rods), Supercharger is 2.3L
LSA - cast internals, Supercharger is 1.9L, and slightly less static compression ratio I hear (around 9:1, LS9 is slightly over 9) I believe their intercoolers are slightly different as well. Different compression suggests different heads because I think the block and bore/stroke are "shared". And with a different supercharger, you're probably lookin' at different cam and intake as well. EDIT: just found this too LSA Cam specs Valve Lift .480" intake / .480" exhaust Duration(@.050 in) 198 intake / 216 exhaust LS9 Cam specs Valve Lift .562" intake / .558" exhaust Duration(@.050 in) 211 intake / 230 exhaust

For interest sake haha
LS3 spec http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/En...1992&engCat=ls looks like you throw in a forged crank and a super charger and the LS3 would be on top of the LSA. On paper anyway

Wow that's a tiny cam in the LSA. I thought there would be more lift than that.

Also , I believe the LS9 is a dry sump whereas the LSA is a wet sump. I could be wrong though.

Holy revive old thread batman!
The LS9 is dry sump. It also has forged crank and rods, a different cam and valves/valve springs, oil cooled pistons, and a bigger supercharger. I'm taking my L99 and converting it to a mock LS9. LS9 cam and valve train and then in using the Edelbrock SC
