Yeah last year we got a model of the concept and this year we got the silver indy test car that we couldn't get close to let alone sit in. my only consolation is that i will get to sit in the first cars to show up at my work. but i was extremely happy to see both.

I'll vouch for that 100%. Don't discount this part of his post, Nightmare...you're upset --- but this is worth of a second or third read-over.

Help me out as I'm confused. At NO time were the Camaro's "roped off." At one time there was briefly a small rope from the door to the body of the silver SS with the dyed inferno orange interior mock-up to keep people from sitting in it while the door was open as it was off to Paris as soon as the show was over. However there was a black/white camouflaged IVER car there every day for to people sit in, crawl in the trunk, etc., etc. Care to elaborate?

Wanted to say thanks for the Rally Yellow 2LT at the Jacksonville show this weekend. It was not roped off, and people were constantly all over the car. I sat in it 3 or 4 times myself - front and rear seats. I feel like I really got to know the car - without having driven it of course! Thank you GM.

Am I way off base by feeling that if you really have to sit in a car to make the decision to buy it (witch is certainly understandable) then maybe you should wait til it's on the lot to buy it?

GM has made ZERO call to action advertisement on this car. 'Call to action advertisement' are the ads that you see that tell you to come buy a product. GM hasn't asked anyone to by this product yet. They certainly want you to but haven't asked you to.

Just wondering, why would anyone advertise a car that is not even technically in production yet and have people showing up at showrooms and get pissed because there aren't any to see or drive? Counterproductive?????

I did too.

And then I had to drive back in insane fog and almost wrecked into an F-250.

They shouldn't. That's what I'm saying.

I'm responding to the people who are upset that they didn't get to sit in a Camaro at some of the shows. They argue, how they are supposed to buy a car that they aren't alowwed to sit in. I'm just saying, then don't order it til you can sit in it. If that means wait til they are on the lot 6 months or so from now, then wait. I'm saying that if GM had advertised this car and asked them to buy it then they would have an argument that they should be able to sit in it. But GM hasn't so don't complain.

So neither of you guys sat in the IVER?????????????? (see post #45).
Another good point. I didn't know that was there. So they REALLY can't complain.

Ok Iv'e got Ya!
It was very amusing. Scott was off in the wings just waiting for someone to take the bait and sit in the IVER. Tag had asked me if we could and I said something to the effect of "Don't say I said so, but GO FOR IT!" Scott immediately came over and asked Tag to demonstrate how large the trunk is and told him to crawl in it. Man that was a fun day! There are many, many pictures in the Indy pictures threads of people sittin' in the IVER and crawling all over it, even some pictures of Tag (and Lou) in the trunk. Still not getting the roped off thing??????
Maybe they weren't aware that the other cars were show cars with many important shows upcoming. With so few cars available at the time I understand why they couldn't have a thousand people crawling in and out of those. Plus the silver SS had an Inferno orange MOCK_UP interior and Scott was concerned that the orange dye on the seats would get worn. Needed to look good for the Paris show!!!!

Wish I could see ANY of them. Mobile AL not exactly an Ideal spot for shows featuring the New Camaro. One of my clients, about a year or year and a half ago, said he saw one in Gulfport Mississppi that he got to sit in. Don't know if I beleive him but if he's right, I may have missed my shot.
Doesn't matter though, I'll get to sit in my own one day.
