That module above allows access to the VEHICLE configuration menu? not the HVAC/Seats etc I'm talking the area where you set remote start on/off etc. Default blower speed etc; the stuff you would find under the "config" (Button 5) on the stock radio? I dont see any buttons for that nor do I see how that LCD could display all those menu's unless I"m missing something LOL

Do you mind me asking what the module is called and how you got it so I can pass this information on to my installer.

Thanks again for your information, this was the one thing i was worried about with changing out the factory unit.

Correct, the module controls all of that. Once installed and the vehicle is powered on, it has scroll screens for all of the functions previously controlled by the factory head unit.

It is AXXESS part number XIA-LCD. The Metra manual specifically references it for the function of vehicle configuration settings.

My install..I really like the metra kit. The replacement sounds are a little weird and I am a little worried about the buttons eventually showing the wear..but overall its is very nice!

That thing looks a hell of a lot better painted doesn't it? I know they were trying to stay with the same trim but, just because the rest of the trim looks like shit doesn't mean you should follow suit. I think most people are changing the trim. That should tell GM something.

What I am worried about is in some of those pictures the oil guage looks blocked. With my bit of OCD I look at that guage several times a trip and want to make sure it can be seen with a glance, not a bend, twist and then a glance. So to you guys that have this installed (I am 6") is the oil guage blocked?
