Regardless of what they're doing up there now, they need to stop and get on this national crisis.

I feel bad for you man!!! you asked a simple question and all you mainly received were opionions!!!! NO HELP!!! we need a forum so goody two shoes give only opionions and a forum for people that just want a simple answer! I am asking the same question on two forums here. I ordered my 5 point roll cage from RPMROLLBAR here on the group discount. KILLER DEAL by the way. I just received my 5 point Harnesses. I don't need the factory seat belt! i need to eliminate the buzzer and light. My 5 point harness gives a great deal more safety than a stock seat belt. So PLEASE restrain from a power point presentation on seat belt safety. Thanks.
Now for the simple question: Does anybody know how to eliminate the seat belt buzzer and light. Thank you for your help.

Go to the seatbelt receiver, find the two wires leading to the receiver, cut them and splice them together with a butt splice. I condone this ONLY if you are doing what tys2010Camaro is doing, which is adding a BETTER safety device than factory.

Really man, what's the deal with all the judgement going on here. He asked a simple question. I just love how everyone has to lecture about wearing a seatbelt.

I am not sure what the intentions of the OP are, but there can be legit reasons behind this question.

#3, I have known you on this forum for years, if you have answers and want to share them, thats great, but you do not have to dangle info in front of someone and decline them the knowledge because you "value their life".

Like the OP of another post... down here in Texas... we have 700hp cars with cages and 5pt harnesses. When we wear the harness we do not want to be bothered with the seat belt in anyway.

I wouldnt want to HAVE to worry about the seat belt chime distracting me when I am about to run 138mph in a 10sec quarter mile. You need to have full concentration. Others may say, well just leave the seat belt latched while you race, but, that leaves you open to getting tangled in unnecessary straps and "feeling" it behind you, more to take away from your concentration.

that is an awful story, sorry to hear that, but just because someone doesnt want to hear an annoying beep, does not mean they are not going to wear there seat belt. (or a racing harness... see above)

You would think this would have a simple answer.

I did not read thru the entire thread -and I am HOPING that the O.P. wears his/her seatbelt at all times.....
............... but I will add my comments......

1. It is illegal to disconnect the seat belt warning chime in the United States.....

2. Seatbelt usage is somewhat controversial - yes, there will always be that ONE PERSON who knows someone who knows of a friend who knows someone that was in an accident and had they been wearing a seatbelt, they'd be in the Great Chevy Showroom in the sky. Frankly, that is a one in a million happening. The data far surpasses any argument that NOT wearing a seatbelt MIGHT POSSIBLY save your life..........

A couple of things to consider.

Let's assume you are NOT wearing a seatbelt......and you hit something at speed. Your body wants to 'submarine' -- meaning that it wants to slide UNDER the dash.......that's how people really get banged up. You NEED the seatbelt to hold you in position so that the airbags can do their jobs...........

Now - let's assume you're in a roll-over - your body wants to go thru the openings (windows, windshield) - and the likelihood is that you're going to get rolled over by the car.........OR - thrown at a very high velocity into something -be it the ground, a tree, another car - you name it.

Now - some say "........yeah - well, seatbelts are UNCOMFORTABLE......"

LET ME ASSURE you that living in a wheelchair for the rest of your life is more uncomfortable.

And finally - stop thinking of yourself and consider what it does to your family and friends when you are killed - or worse yet - you are an invalid for the rest of your life............

Sorry if I sound "preachy" - but I have seen FIRSTHAND what happens to drivers and passengers who have NOT been wearing a seatbelt.........and trust me - it never ends well! So I will continue to preach.........and preach.............and preach..........and preach..........

And you know why?

BECAUSE I CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU!!!!

Now!!! Buckle up or:

Your situation is completely different from these guys. Not even in the same ballpark.

So before anyone jumps all over me, I do wear my seatbelt. But since it always bothered me by cutting into the side of my neck, I went to the dealer and asked for the 9 inch extension. It's free. You plug this into your seat belt and this will eliminate all of the chimes. Now when you buckle up you just insert the standard belt into the receptacle that's now 9 inches longer. This accomplished two things. It moved the belt away from my neck and also stopped all the chiming. They also make a 15 inch extension, but this would be major overkill for just moving the belt away from your neck.

It could be at the op wants to run with his harness all the time vs the seatbelt. I've thought about doing that, harness bar and harness. But the ding would be annoying.
