If you have plans on raising the boost on the ZL1 you may want to re-think it since it has hypereutectic piston's which are boost limited.

There is no way I would of bought my Cummins if I wouldn't of been able to raise the boost and was stuck at near stock levels. With FI its so freaking easy to add power if the engine is built right and its a shame that GM doesn't offer forged pistons like its competition does.

One of the reasons I would even consider a gt500, but GM has said they haven't finalized the design, maybe it will get a fully forged bottom end?!?!?! Who knows, maybe I missed it tho and a totally forged bottom end is confirmed.

Here we go again with the d@mn hyper' pistons...

Look - there's nothing to complain about until ZL1 is announced with it's full complement of features and is out on the street.

For me personally I first off like the looks of the Camaro call it styling, the charger is close but not as nice imo. The mustang well is just not in the same class as the first two. They really need to restyle the car to compete better.
The ZL1 with all the new tech being placed into will be a pretty modern car for the next few years or more. Another plus for me.
Lastly and perhaps the most importantly I ask myself if "my wife and I" are joy riding some weekend and were in a bad accident which car will give us
the best protection to survive the crash. Hands down it's the heavier and larger camaro that could make the differance if we walk away from that
accident. I'll take the protection over get to quarter mile run a tenth of a second faster.
BTW my family owns and have owned both mustangs and camaro's over the years.
You might want to go with the Mustang if crash safety is high on your list...5 star crash rating vs Camaro's 4 star rating.

When did the ZL1 becomes a horrible car, not worthy of the badge it wears because a Mustang can bark a little louder?

It's no secret I'm a Chevy guy...they could offer a SuperSnake for GT500 money and I'd still opt for the ZL1, so *yawn*.

Seriously, though -- it's pretty fun to see the battle heating back up again. Things got awfully boring when Camaro went on hiatus...Personally, the ZL1 is the full package for me. I can't really think of a single thing drawing my away and towards another vehicle on the market.

Last I checked...4 star frontal, 5 - side, 5 - rollover and a full compliment of airbags didn't make the car "unsafe" and an instant pass-over...

I agree with this statement for a car in this price range that it appears this car will sell for.(basing price on the price of a current GT500). If I wanted to spend more the only other car I would care to own would be a ZR1

Where did I say that???? Lol

Both cars did very good and are far from unsafe. The guy I was quoting stated that the larger Camaro is a safer car with no facts to back that statement. I was just posting some facts. Just sayin"
The Mustang is 5's across the board(even on the convertible)...not so with the Camaro. The Camaro received 2-fours. 2-fives and 1-not rated (rear occupant). They round the ratings down to 4 overall for the Camaro. Still a very good rating and definitely not a deal breaker.

(Though, for uber-bucks, I'd "settle" for a CTS-V coupe, myself...)
